Some sound advice please

I'm going around in circles reading reviews here and there... so many different views - it's confusing! I want something for Christmas & time is running out.

I have a X-Fi Fatality sound card which I plan to use for now but may change at a later date if need be, possibly an Asus card with built in amp.
I play games, watch movies and listen to a bit of music on my pc.
I would also want to use the headphones attached to my TV.

I'm pretty much sold on the Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO headphones (250 ohm?) & will use a separate clip-on microphone.

I understand I will need a non-USB headphone amp - but I don't know what is best suited as I don't want to increase bass. What are my options please?
Budget... £70, less = :)

Just get the panasonic htf 600 s.

This is a very fun or fun but have not heard it yet headphone.

Your better off going with the htf 600s and inexpensive.

I find the stx to be quite weak in powering headphones like hd 650 unless you select a higher ohm setting i presume it is like the gain setting on the amps that you buy.

Get htf 600s or hfi 580 which has punchy bass and rumbles at a loud volume and both these headphones are easy to drive so it should not be so much of a problem compared to dt770 hd 650 and the like.

But then i see your set on dt 770 well thats your choice..you will find them to be underpowered unless you spend more on the amp.

And what a tight budget.

This is hard for me to recommend but i was thinking of some £100 amp.

Update: I ended up buying the Panasonic headphones which have been in use since Christmas day, their sound is definitely improving with use - so great recommendation, thanks.
I've also since upgraded to a X-fi Titanium HD sound card, much better sounds, happy for now.

I got one yesterday and i think for £30 its hard to find soemthing better. Probably one of the best entery level heaphones you can get i would say

Ouch, £150-£160 sound card for £30 headphones?

Still, you can get better headphones when funds allow. :)

Agree with Stoke, the Panasonic's are some of the best headphones you can get at that price point. They certainly don't warrant a £150 sound card though.
 
I did say - happy for now. I had originally intended to buy better headphones but couldn't decide so went for a cheap set for now. Every day these Panasonic's sound better, yesterday I switched back to my old set for all of 10 seconds - how did I put up with them for so long.
I paid £114 for the sound card thanks to Google.
