Trackmania 2

Think tm1 with nicer visuals and a lot more drifting. Worth my £20 easy with the time i've been spending, It's very pick up and play.

LOL forgot how fast my connection was, allready downloaded, now installing.
Guess im about to find out how GPU intensive it is for myself.

OK for those with a lower end rig like myself here some "Out of the box benchmarks"..
Rig is E8400@4Ghz, 4GB Ram & 4890 (Slight OC)
V.Fast avg 272 fps
Fast avg 124 fps
Nice avg 62 fps
V.Nice avg 38 fps.
Also disabling Motion Blur make no difference in the performance.

Is there any way to "sync" my medals so that I'm not going over old ground when I switch from playing on my desktop to my laptop??

Anybody up for setting up a competition one evening?

Maybe select 10 tracks, give peeps a week to practice them then have a race night?

Ok i just bought this and down loading it now...

Trackmania United Forever is one my favorite pick up and play racing games,i hope this new one is going be just as good or better..

What if I don't have the email anymore? anyway to get them to resend it? Really want to play this on my new pc :D

Just bought the game and really liking it so far. I'm a long time trackmania nations player so getting used to the drifting was tricky at first but getting there. Only trouble I'm having is with my 2 6950's. I get a higher frame rate with crossfire enabled and it is using both gpu's but the game stutters slightly sometimes which is annoying. Playing it with a single card is fine. I've gone in to the setting and put cpu/gpu synchro to immediate which has helped a lot but it still happens sometimes. Trackmania nations runs fine with crossfire.

Anyone else think Nadeo have dropped the ball on this, specifically having a standalone game for each environment.

It makes no sense in the 21st Century to sell a game in this way.

It has also split the online community and also means we cannot have multi environment servers as like with TMUF.

Nadeo were so ignorant/arrogant when launching this, they believed Maniaplanet meant there was no need for Steam or anything else for the game to be successful. Personally, I believe they were greedy and did not want to share the pie. They said before launch that Steam did not match their vision for the game? Everyone else was thinking about the possibilities of Steamworks for matchmaking and Workshop which is far more accessible than anything Maniaplanet can offer. Trackmania and Steamworks seemed a superb fit. Two years later, they decide that Steam does match their vision although the damage had been done as they have already fudged too much of the game around Maniaplanet and are now in an awkward position of trying to support two platforms and to be frank, it is becoming a bit of a mess thanks to their earlier ignorance/arrogance.

Logic states a game like should be sold as follows in the 21st century:

Basic core game sold as F2P model with a MINIMUM amount of content, 1 car, handful of tracks.
Additional environments sold as DLC to feed into the core game.

Surely that would work better than the cluster **** we now have?

It is as though they are now trying to complete a jigsaw without having all the pieces.

The other "problem" is that the core TM2 community are more concerned about their own existence than the game itself. This is a post from the Nadeo TM forums.

Will you start promoting the community websites (dedimania, tmx, mania-exchange) more and forget more unnecessary things like steam workshop? This game is alive because of it's community, and if the community gets weaker the game gets weaker.

I have no problem purchasing environments separately if they are polished enough which to be fair, they have been, I just wish they will pull their thumb out of their *** before it is too late.

I am staying with TMUF for the time being as playing the TM2 Environments is too awkward for those who like to race in multi environments.

Just seen the promotion pack of all 3 worlds for £15.99, http://store.steampowered.com/sub/34409/

Also just realised a little late that a demo has been released for each world in the last week. Anyone know if the demos give a decent representation of the full game?

I'm much more of a "race-simmer" but Trackmania have tended to have nice graphics, it would be handy if TM2 has playable wheel support, rather than forcing me to use keyboard (my very old Saitek P2550? is hidden in a box somewhere).
