6670/Hazro sparklies

I have connected a Hazro H27WC to a AMD Radeon HD 6670 using Dual DVI and after a few hours of use I sometimes get coloured "sparklies" appearing in all mid-grey areas. The problem persists if I turn the monitor "on and off" or if I change resolution from the Catalyst Control centre but it goes away if I reboot.

This leads me to suspect the graphics card, but I'm not certain. If I shift the card & monitor to another PC it's exactly the same - so I think that rules out my MB/PSU etc.

I'm now waiting for it to happen again so I can swap-in a different monitor and see if the sparklies persist or not. However I will have to swap DVI cables and drop the resolution to do this and so I'm wondering if this will indeed be a rigorous test for ruling in or out the Hazro monitor...? Maybe someone here recognizes the symptoms and can help point me to the source of the problem.

Everyday I'm Sparkling????

Seems as though they are artefacts my friend.

I think the card isn't powerful enough to run a monitor that large. A 30" monitor needs a GTX570 or above or some Sli/CF cards to run nicely!

I have a HD5770 but run it on a LG 19" widescreen with no problems.

Try updating the drivers, if not the card isn't powerful enough to run the monitor!

It happens!

The problems nothing to do with grunt.

I wonder what makes you think that? Sure it 'aint no gaming beast, but the spec is well capable of the required bandwidth. 2560x1440 @ 60Hz is no big deal for it.

Have a Hazro myself and grunt has nothing to do with it.

BUT monitor has real issues with GPU's

My original Nvidial 8800 would not scale
Replaced for a cheap 5000 series no problems and when BF3 came replaced again with a 6970 again OK. But if you look through the Hazro (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18204986)page loads of peeps have problems with seeing Bios on ATI so go figure.

Do get occasional boot with monitor out of sync and have over 8 months seen sparklies on screen twice again reboot fixed this.

Fantastic monitor FOR THE PRICE:eek: but does have issues.

Utter tosh! My 5770 drives 3 x U2410 and if you don't know that's 3 x 24" - obviously not to game! [2400 x 1920]

Try another DVI-D cable, what temps are you getting on your card?

maxzuk may have the best heads up on this ...

All that matters is the resolution.

Actual width in the real world has 0 impact on performance.

My 15.6" notebook display at 1920x1080 will need as much processing power as a 30" 1920x1080 display.

I had a similar issue after I moved my monitor, blue and white artifacts mostly in dark scenes. Turned out my dvi cable was loose.

Try reseating your connector or another dvi cable if you have one spare before you look into issues with either the monitor (very nice by the way:D) or you gfx card.

I get this too now and again, I can fix it with a reboot but also if I turn the monitor on and off a few times it also fixes it, this is monitor related.

I also get no BIOS and my machine reboots over and over when I plug the monitor in on boot up. Its fine if I boot the machine to windows first THEN plug it in.

these monitors are pretty useless, Great picture when they work just loads of little problems.

Hazro refuses to do anything about the issues though.

I have a 5870

Thanks for all the helpful replies so far! I don't want to put anyone off the Hazro unnecessarily so I'll say right now I'm 99.999% certain it's the graphics card.

...I caught it in the act again and found a setting in the Catalyst Control Center > Alternate DVI operational mode (that was checked, but not by me!) and unchecking it the sparklies stopped immediately.

Now, so far so good and as I say, no one should be put off the Hazro. I read up a lot about it here before deciding to go for it, and the message seemds always mixed: Fantastic performance for money, but not always plain sailing. Have confidence I say, I can't recall the last time I saw such a step-change in display quality. Going from a 24" DELL 2407WFPB to a 27" Hazro IPS panel is a total revelation.

BTW, my BIOS shows OK
