Leap Year and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday question

I'm struggling to understand something so this year we get an extra bank holiday:

June 5th Tuesday Queen’s Diamond Jubilee

But because it is 2012 and we have an extra day in the year right:

Wednesday 29th February

Surely the "extra" working day in February negates the efficiency of the "additional" bank holiday on the 5th June?

What do you all think?

Can some of you see what I am trying to say here?

Effeciency is a strange way of putting it.

It's just unfortunate that it's a leap year this year.

I was discussing this with the missus the other day. The extra day off negates the extra day for this leap year which in effect means its just any other (non-leap) year :(

I'm sure that played in when deciding on giving the extra bank holiday, they say each bank holiday has an effect on the economy so the 'extra' working day probably helped them ease in with the decision for an extra bank holiday.

good point we had an extra one last year

lightning never strikes twice

Extra days work, you must be kidding. Also work bank Hollidays. However extra bankhollidays we get off. As they aren't partly normal contract.
