Steam Christmas Sale 2011

Is anyone else getting extremely poor or intermittent download speeds this evening on Steam? It was fine this morning and up until about 4pm (roughly - can't recall exactly), but at some point in the afternoon my download speeds on Steam took a nose dive and downloads keep cutting out for several minutes before restarting again. No amount of changing servers has solved the issue (not even to those with supposedly low-mid usage).

Other downloads and speed in general is fine, so it's only Steam I'm getting issues with.

And just for the record: my speeds have been fine throughout the rest of the Steam Holiday Sale.

The Steam Xmas Sale 2011 has ended!

A Gimpymoo and neoglow Thread Production ;)

I hope everyone had a good Christmas and Happy New Year to all. The sale brought me some great games, they will keep me going throughout the year, just need to find time to download them all now!

I hope I have been a good (goodish) thread host, I tried to keep the 1st post up to date, in between eating mince pies, opening presents, cooking xmas dinner and generally getting a bit tipsy over xmas! Thanks to Gimpymoo for uploading the pics some days so I could just copy/paste as I could not use the work computers to upload (they are filtered :()

Finally, I hope you all stocked up with games from the sale as I see most of the prices have sky rocketed straight back up! Heres to 2012 and see you again for the next Steam sale!

I've had erratic speeds with cutouts too, on both London and Manchester servers - gonna try some continental ones.

I had 58gb of stuff to download on the last day of the sale, was getting around 600kbps-1mbps speed on both the UK servers. Switched to the Ukraine server and I got 5mbps-6mbps speed :D

I'm really happy with myself actually. I only bought Defense Grid :)
Most of the games didn't interest me to be honest. I contemplated getting Magicka but I'm sure its pretty boring on your own.

No? Games were gifts that didn't expire. Mine are still there?

Could just be the inventory servers having a wobbly? They have been less than stable over the last few weeks.
