Why oh why would this happen TWICE in 3 months (around 3000miles)?
The first time, i had some gearbox work done at a well known Ford tuner, and if im honest im 100% sure they broke it, as it was fine when it went in, but my wheel was covered in grease within a week of getting it back.
It got replaced by another garage (as the tuner refused to do it) at the cost of £120+£30 for tracking. The replacement was a dull soft rough rubber boot, while the original was a hard plastic like shiny boot. This replacement has now failed on the seam. From the looks of it, two parts of the boot are rubbing on each other as the car moves/steers and its worn out the top edge.
What will the garage that fitted that say? "Not our problem?"
