So i have decided and worked out that i need a GT 430 for blu ray 3D playback via my HDTV, the question i need an answer to is

Active or passively cooled?

Active is almost 2/3 the cost of passive, i have never had a card like this before, will active add any significant noise? ie, will a HTPC stress the card too much for it to keep quiet?

Active cards are approx £40
passive cards £60 ish

an active one

You have not given us any info on what case it's going in etc..

Honestly, I would go active if you can set the fan silently, passive cards can cook the rest of the pc.

I have made a few passive coolers with great success for shuttle size HTPC's
and if You look at some of the Passive cooled cards you could cool virtually as well just disconnecting the fan :D

Not used the very latest ATI cards but have had problems with them not waking up when feeding tv's plenty of times in the past.
