Im sorry to dishearten the PC brigade, but the woman was correct.
Most of the people on the tram looked Afro-Carribean, therefore nothing to do with Britain or being British at all.
I find the entire thing astounding, how can you be put in prison for speaking your MIND?
This is 1984, except most people are too thick to realise.
Sure, she was rude, irritating, loud and being disruptive, HOWEVER she said nothing racist.
I think the worst bit was "your not British, your black" or words to that effect. Given most people who are British are Anglo Saxon and therefore not black, brown, or whatever colour they want to be called, she has a point.
I love how black people are only offended when it suits them.
Never mind the fact that they make a big deal out of being afrocarribean and celebrating that culture, and distancing themselves entirely from our white UK culture.
All the violence and stupid yardie "urban" accents that they have brought into this country, I cant think of one single positive thing a black immigrant has done for London anyway.... Just brought more violence and black troublemaking subculture.
No doubt someone will want to try and arrest me for just expressing my opinion, this is the UK after all. Free speech is not allowed any more.

The grand irony is that No one is British, we are all mostly German, with a bit of everything else added in.

Not German....Germanic. One is a nationality, the other is an ethno-lingusitic group.
You can belong to both the British Nationality Group and the Germanic Ethno-Lingustic group, so your logic is flawed.
I wouldn't say flawed logic, perhaps forgetting two letters and trying to make the point that Nationality is a silly concept in its own right, an age old one at that, which has cost millions of lives already.

immigration out of control, quite a few people in our country that don't speak the language, families of unregistered and illegal immigrants and the problem of foreigners committing criminal acts (while there are upstanding immigrants there are also bad ones) and these things give people negative perceptions. I'm not naive enough to just assume immigration is overall good, I believe we should be training and raising our young to do well rather than just bringing in people to replace them and take there jobs. What good is it to have leftover people with nothing to do?
To me it just seems like immigration has just opened up many positives but many negatives in the same vain and I don't really know if it's been worth the effort considering the overpopulation and growing discomfort of others in our country. I believe you should work hard to improve your own country, not just move around and hope it's cool elsewhere. If a place (like Africa) is un-viable to live in, poor and unable to recover then why should it be supported so that it can just keep producing people who want to immigrate?
The world simply doesn't have enough resources to go around and people assume everything like capitalism and resource hungry economies work when they don't. We don't even have enough jobs for everyone in our country so when you chuck in countries like china and africa with big populations then you are screwed.

There's no rational or logical reason to say you are the same as someone just from coming from the same nation as someone else, more so to say that an individual is different or worse for being from a different nation (or state area).
Although there are distinct social, cultural, political and ethnic regional similarities between peoples from the same Nations or regions.
So it is a flawed argument. People are people, individually we are very much the same, with very similar emotions, needs, ambitions and so on...however when you look at humans collectively they can be very different depending on the culture in which they live, this culture is often concentrated or defined along nation-state lines.

Shameless bump! I'm pretty sure I saw this woman last night when I got the tram home. No kid with her, but it was about 11:30pm. She was ****** and blinding to herself last night because there was no-one else around. She's not all there, basically. I wonder how much she was baited into this?

What she should or shouldn't be doing is one thing, the reality of the world, sadly, is a little different. I just found her situation quite upsetting when I saw it for myself in real life.

I wondered whether the woman had mental issues and she'd been baited to say the things she did, and if this is the case, she was prosecuted as a scapegoat instead of receiving proper mental health care.
Care in the community has a lot to answer for.
