As above, is the stuff you get from your local supermarket okay for watercooling loops?

I assumed it is aslong as its not tap water?

Distilled only.

Mineral water still has bad stuff in it.

Not certain about still, but halfords sells deionised water for £3

no,only use distilled/deionised water, buy from a car parts shop, its just water that hasnt come into contact with metal, you dont know what type of rocks the mineral water has been in contact with(limestone ect) which you dont want any limescale in the system

Ah balls, i've been using still water/mineral water in my loop for the past few days...

Guess i'll be making a trip to halfords on wednesday!

lol using vodka in a loop sounds insane tbh!

I think i'll pass! I'll make sure to clean out with hot water though before i reassamble my loop :)

Not really we have been testing distilled 89% pure alcohol (trying to get it down to 95% but we need to get some filters) at home and using it to test in my water cooler how ever i have noticed that my res has had problems with the alcohol so we then switched it to 50/50 mix of our vegetable extract and ultra pure wich seems to do a much better job.

The alcohol is been made by a friend of mine in his distiller which is fun to see. I thought i was mad till i saw his set up .. its insane ....

how much for a liter of the 89%?

we cannot sell it, its illegal for us to deal. Unless we had a licence and all so the tax on it would be crazy. All so the effort it takes to make 1 Ltr is not worth the money consumers would pay.

lol i was toying with the idea of making alcohol with an old boiler, then I read storyes of explosions which put me off, too bad it could have kept me and my car in drink
