Just testing the waters as such to say at this time but have been considering doing freelance sysadmin / computer repair / consultancy. I've got over 8 years experience however I don't have qualifications to show but my years of Windows/Nix based knowlege, is it still worth something to look into these days or is it another over saturated industry?

Best thing to do is see if you can get a decent length contract and go from there.

Tricky one really as I'm already in a 9-5 job, just was thinking may add the ability for a bit of cash on the side really

computer repair maybe but its low paid and over saturated.

sysadmin needs to be available 24/7 if something goes wrong, can't really say "Oh i'm at my real job right now"

Consultancy is an option if you are good enough.

In that case then it's pretty unrealistic as there aren't many, if any part time contract roles that you can work on in the evenings only
