*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

After the mad rush with WoW to level I've taken it slow with this game, my guilds only got 1 person to level 48 so far so its quite nice to relax and level.

I dont see the point in rushing to level 50, and then have to wait for everyone to catch up to do things, bit silly really, it seems to be the most boring part of a MMO after a while, WoW was just raiding or pvp at the end level, as much fun as it was in TBC to do end game (where in my opinion the game started going downhill) going the same place 4 nights a week to the same fight isnt fun anymore :(

Im still enjoying the story line with the dialogues and im only on my 3rd world, nearly finished it yesterday at level 23 and got a "bonus" mission when leaving, went to the bonus mission to find 50 other missions to do :S

Some of the Bonus Series are after the planet too - Alderaan has a Bonus Series at Level 40 which is kind of after Hoth!

I have out levelled everything so far! Level 45 (almost 46) and still not finished Hoth!! Madness.

Will Ding 50 before I even start Act III of my story I think!

I honestly do not see the need for a lvl 50 only bracket. I personally like they way they have done the warzones for this. Sure you are going to get ganked a lower levels but then you know what happens the wheel eventually turns and then you are the lvl 50 ganking lower lvls.

Reason I prefer it this way is it ensures quick entry times into the WZ's. On Nightmare Lands server I wait maybe 3-5mins max to get into a WZ. If they break the pvp into brackets that timer will easily double if not triple.

Also my sin is lvl 39 at the moment. Yet I can still compete against a level 50 fairly well. Ok if the level 50 is dished out in full pvp gear then im going to loose, but you know what the WZ's are about team work (least they should be !) if you are a level 10 running around on your own presuming you can go around killing things on your own. Then you are doing it all wrong.

If you have two level 50s already, chances are you'll be done with any new content in days. That's just a ridiculous rate of levelling...

I've been playing since the second day of early access. Spent a couple of days seeing what I wanted to play, and settled on an Imperial Agent, Operative spec. I'm still only level 32 (just got there), and I've been playing a lot since about this time last week.

Created a guild, got some friends to sign up. We've been recruiting decent, like-minded people over the weekend and now have 15 active guild members. Really enjoying organised flashpoints, and the overall community. I was in a friend's guild for my 2 months of WoW, but never felt all that welcome. This is a completely different experience.

I've got my subscription set up to renew every month, but I think I'll be subbed for another couple of months at least, with guild stuff, such as PvP events, end game operations and flashpoints, and wanting to try some other classes. Fancy a lightsaber wielder next.

Unless of course a lot more people that are currently staying away from PvP start queuing for matches again. I know I'd be back there in a shot if they split the levels up.

Hit 48 last night with just over 5 days /played.

Didn't have early access but wouldn't say I've rushed through the content, I have leveled with 1 other person till about 32 and 2 other people up to 48 so been following others class quests and doing heroic 4's with tank (with heal companion) and 2 DPS. Even had time to get my Biochem, Bioanalysis and Diplomacy to 400.

Done some PVP, space combat and Flashpoints for the missions too.

Really enjoying the game though playing with friends and the story for IA is awesome so far. I smell some twists coming soon :D

How is TOR for solo players? I hate grouping unless I really have to and don't want to have a ton of incomplete quests like in LOTRO as it was so hard to get a decent team together.

I am lvl 19 with a Sith Sorcerer and I have had no problems with soloing, some missions you pick up are 2+ but normally get a pickup around it.

Really helps with being a light armour eg clothy with a tanking companion

To be fair two level 50s is not a hard feat to do, I have one 30 and 1 50 and I've been playing casually.
I can't even add up the amount I've got lol.

On forstclaw I've got...

2 L20's
2 L15's
1 L10.

On Ludo Kresh.

1 L30
2 L 20's
1 L15

On Bao Dur

1 L38
1 L24
1 L20
1 L16

I wantd to get one of each class past the first two areas on both sides - I ditched the frostclaw characters due to the servers - by the time they had died down I had already out-leveled them :(.

If I had consolidated all of that play time into two characters (I've also done pvp/flashpoints with all classes) I'd guess I'd have at least 2 L50's also.

But I want to take it as slow as possible, so when I do hit l50 there is content waiting for me :)

Youve got no problems in TOR. One of the more common complaints is that it feels like a SP game. On the other side of the coin, its not too hard getting a group together for a 'flashpoint', especially at earlier levels.

No to this. See the previous image, 80/90 kills for 0/1 deaths is common and that is ridiculous by any measure.

It's fine the only things you will struggle with are:

HEROIC[2,2+,4] Missions (obviously needing, 2, 2 or more, 4 players to complete) - a lot of the 2,2+ can be solo'd however if you try hard enough but can be tough, helps to have your companion with good gear.

You will also struggle on Flashpoints which are designed for 4 people (with the exception of the first one which can be done with 2)

You can always go back to Heroics/Flashpoints at higher levels and solo them for the story/lore perspective - though some Flashpoints are Level 50 so would still need a group.

They are easy enough to find though :)

If you want to solo you will need to pick a class that can cover the bases.

From what I've played I'd go for either,

The agent & smuggler main classes with the healer off-spec - as they both have great starter companions - with the imperial agent being my personal preference.

The sith inquisitor/consular are OK for solo, but lack the sustain of the IA.

Def needs a bracket mate, the Level 50's in top gear destroy everything, I am fine with a Level 10-49 and then a 50. If anything it's starting to put me off playing PvP because it's just not balanced!

So far me & my bro have managed to 2 man (as 2 sith warriors with comps) all the flash points up until & including boarding party - need to try foundry next.

Mandalorian raiders was pretty tough on the jedi fight, as was caddimariu.

It's VERY hard (with no long term CC) - but can be done & is a great test of skill.

That depends on the route you take - if you go a healing route the Consular you can solo most - I solo'd pretty much everything from Tython>Balmorra (Repub) just by chucking Qyzen in and healing him - that includes every Heroic 2/2+ - I managed 1 or 2 HEROIC 4's but often needed another for that.

Depends on the play style - I suspect going a Biochem route would also help solo'ing because you get reusable med packs.

Nice one - I can imagine that boarding party being a right slog with 2 of you, kudos! :)

So quantity over quality is what your saying, you would rather have lots of unbalanced matches than have a few good ones.

I'm sorry you picked a low pop server, the game should not be balanced around that and the need for instant queues.

Level 50 premades are getting quite common and teams find themselves facing the same pre-made over and over when they only have lvl15-25 teamm8's.

But hey instant queue's....
