today i fulfil a childhood dream.

I finished a book of these when Swindon was in the premier league, it was easier at school as you just trade in duplicates with friends. Collecting and completing it was the fun and nice it was done I was like, is this it ? So not long after that I sold the whole book to a friend for about £15/16.

You got ripped off here 50p RRP a pack and you paid £26 in total, so .5x 50= £25, so if you was to sell these like a shop would you make a loss of £1, this does not make sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAHA I was going to say this, could have gone to a shop, bought 50 packs and saved £1 :p :D

I remember stickers and the little stick of bubble gum that came with them! :D

Wasn't interested in football though, I have the Transformers sticker book somewhere part filled...I remember finding a silvery reflective card was like finding treasure!

Anyone remember the 'have a nice day' smiley stickers that came out sometime in the late 80s/early 90s? I had loads of those!

I remember going to a convention where you could trade with other people. One of the stands allowed you to trade in any card for the number 1 shiny. Got like 20 of them for some reason.

I miss childhood.

I had the entire 1978 album, the last and most difficult sticker was the League Cup, but I got there in the end. The win, the win was strong.

This is the one (not mine)!

Now thats a beautiful blast from the past, probably about the time I started collecting, Panini is a great memory from my childhood and I wished they did the same with scottish and english teams in the same book.

Do the packs still smell the same when you open them?

Thanks for sharing this!

I feel almost like one of my dreams have been completed seeing that box of stickers.

I had the 95/96 ones iirc. Nothing better than getting a new shiny. That smell of a pack of stickers. Smells like NOSTALGIA! :)

There is always one sticker which is really hard to get.

In the streetfighter 2 album, it was the shiny blanka. That was almost impossible!

I still have my football sticker albums from 1969, 1970 & 1972.

On the bay there selling the complete Topps 2012 set 462 loose stickers & album for £62.

Same with the Pokemon cards. I have never bought a pack myself put they obviously put in a million wigglets (no idea if that is the real name - The crappy worm thing!) to every one rare one to make dorks buy more packs.

Ninja Edit: A quick google says it is Weedle, not Wigglet :p.

I completed the '86 album back in the day, it should still be in the loft at my mums somewhere.

2 things I can remember about it to this day:

1) The last Liverpool player I needed to complete the page was Ian Rush. He was number 132 and that number has stuck with me for life and always been my special number.

2) They had a page where each sticker was the cover of a programme from each club. The Liverpool one was from a game against Arsenal and I had the actual programme at home too. Seeing as I never really went to games (I was about 9/10 and lived over 200 miles from Anfield, although I did go to a small number of games over the course of my childhood when visiting family in Liverpool) I'm not quite sure how I got it.
