Ever Done a Ouija Board OcUK?

So you're telling a somewhat unbelievable story and through that same story you're also giving a massive hint that you shouldn't be trusted by saying you've been to prison?

Forgive me if I'm skeptical.

Kind of blunt logic though I forgive you.

*Edit. Hmm, saying that Stephen Fry is more the same ball park. You believe his presentation of facts do you not?

I've not had a go myself but my mum did many years ago and I always remember her telling me never to do one. I don't know what happeend as she wont talk about it, but it scared her sufficiently.

I got the same thing off my mother, she reckons a huge oldschool table, that normally took 5+ people to move, lifted off the floor when she was in 6th form. She's never one to bull**** but I have my doubts on this one :D

I love how it was created as a children's toy before it became famous in any way :D

Not a children's toy, but a Victorian board game for adults....derived from Chinese Spirit Writing.

However, would I play with one? Despite all logic, probably not! Ghosts give me the willies and I'm happy to not experience one with all the weird stories you here.

I have had a few attempts at using one, never with any real concrete results or anything that could be regarded as anything other than coincidence. However, my Gran once phoned my wife and told her not to get on a bus and was so emphatic that my wife got freaked out and didn't, that bus crashed on what would have been her return journey, several people were hurt.....my wife was pregnant at the time. My Gran used a form of Ouija regularly.

I am not inclined to believe in it, although as with most things, I approach it with an open mind until proven otherwise.

Difference is, none of these people believed that their future was predicted by some letters on a chopping board.

Forgive me if I'm skeptical.

What a terrible thing to say about a large % of people you have no idea why they were incarcerated.
100% flawed logic.

Not done one personally but my dad did some years ago with one of his work mates. He said he would never do one again.

It was one they made themselves and they were both applying a lot of force to the top of the plastic pointer unyet it still moved. They gave each other a nod and lifted their fingers off at the same time and the plastic pointer shot across the room.

100% flawed logic.

Explain.

Bear in mind that at no point did I say all people that have been to prison shouldn't be trusted. I said it's a massive hint that they shouldn't. I'm aware that not everyone that has been to or who is in prison isn't trustworthy but at the same time, I'm willing to say that the vast majority of those are indeed not trustworthy.

His story was unbelievable and his credentials flawed and yet being skeptical is illogical? Right.

I did it once with three friends at it ended up spelling out a great story. Only afterwards did we find out that one of my mates was controlling it. Games for trolls maybe?

Another assumption, how do you know? B.t.w. I do not either, believe the inanimate letters and board can tell the future. No it was the animated glass. By ourselves I no doubt believe you would think, that or you do not believe I even did one.
Funnily enough I just got off the phone to my friend David. I will speak to him later in the week and will ask what he remembers of that night, in our flat, in Moss side, Manchester. Yet another reason for me not to be trusted I sense you would feel? I know you would not dare voice that opinion.

Again, I'd like to point out that I never said you couldn't be trusted. I said having been put in prison is a massive hint towards you not being trustworthy. It is.

Also, I never assumed anything. I said I was skeptical, not that I didn't believe you.

I honestly don't even know what you're saying here or what opinion you think I wouldn't dare voice?

Perhaps it is for people with one brain cell.
Personally I would want to know what they had done before I label them.

Show me where I've labeled someone?

I agree, it depends on what the reason they're imprisoned is.

For the final time, what I said was, having been in prison is a massive hint that a person isn't trustworthy.

What I didn't say was that everyone who has been to prison isn't trustworthy.

What I did say was that the majority of people in prison arent trustworthy.

What I didn't say was that jmc is one of the majority who aren't trustworthy.

What I did say was that I was skeptical of his story because he COULD be one of majority.

I have no idea. Hence my implying doubt and not making judgement.

Jesus. I don't know how to put it any simpler than that.

Come, come now, you are not stupid. Saying it the way you do suggests what you are trying to deny. I forgave you anyhow, so I bid you a fond farewell.

Wife and mates used one when they were younger. Thay all experienced bad dreams and wierdness for a few weeks after!!
