Where could i get help with a business idea/funding ?

the main product would be a sound patch/preset for a synthesizer whether hardware or software. the patch will be 1kb itself usually. for example, sylenth, vanguard, access virus, tone 2 gladiator... the demo will be in wav or mp3 and hosted on soundcloud

so you're going to be like beatport but with samples instead of actual tracks?

how much will soundcloud charge you?

Well you're giving a lot away garyfl, all credit to you as many are shady on here about what they'll be doing for their business. I hope you've protected the idea and / or have investigated whether or not you'd be infringing other people's IP :p.

yeah robbie, what ive told is only part of the bigger picture, there loads more to it, far much more needs to be included to make it work. and not anybody canjust set something like this up, it helps if your a well known estabolished artist/producer, im actually receiving help now from the label i have a contract with, its cost £10,000 to get his website fully estabolished

yeah ill be selling patches, not really samples, but patches. Sound cloud is free though i do think there is a limit and also a listenlimit, ill probably purchase an account from them.

there is a HUGE market for soundsets themselves but the bad side to that is you can pay upto £50 for a soundset with 128 sounds in butonly 1is useful to your audio project. but there is no market for individualy tailered presets at dirt cheap prices, id like to take advantage ofthat but offer so much more than just a singilar patch sellingservice,i want to offer more in a sense of a community where everyone cancome from all aspects of the music industry and join the forum

i'd forget the idea of hosting that on soundcloud, it's not your listen limit that will be a problem, it's the size of the demo files. what's a lossless patch weigh in at? obviously this is variable but you will need a large host. you'd be better off hosting on youtube! i don't see why you'd want to list a trial sample on anything higher than 128k tbh do not list a demo in wav!

i'm sure you are also aware that there are a lot of this kind of thing available for free? you'd be better off trying to tie yourself into a legit site such as beatport...

you think i should delete it ? its quite a large market, its like clothes, someone buying someone elses patch dosent result in a loss of sale, itl just make it more popular as a whole, i feel id be successful all because similar companies made it so popular.

theres notalot of people who can skilly fully program a synthesizer, its a niche skill and i didit from the age of 11 and im 21now. theres plenty of sites selling soundsets, the more the merrier. i think its about the way its delivered thats going to make it standout.
