I currently have 560ti's in SLI. 1 gb versions.

Thinking of changing them out for something else.

I was looking at a pair of 6970's or a 7970.

Use 1920x1080. Will possibly look into eyefinity later down the road.

Thoughts??

Cheers

7970.
Single card.
Lower power usage.
Runs cooler.
3GB ram.
Overclocks like crazy to about 6970 CF performance and most likely beyond when voltage is raised.
Great minimum fps.

I will be very surprised if anyone suggests another option.

560Ti SLI should be fine with 1080p (waits for the VRAM brigade) in fact MORE than fine:

Are both the GPUs running at 99% when gaming? I'd check that.

My call is that it would be a waste of money but if you do want to do something, as above - I'd get a 7970/7950.

SLI is defo enabled. Is there an easy way to check GPU useage?

I'm a sucker for new tech and upgrading/changing things!! I originally bought one 560ti and then another before I had even played again!

Really? Watched quite a few vids and never seen any. Or is it something you wouldn't see on YouTube?

If Surround is anything to go by it's terrible. Messages fail to appear on the screen (like press space then click SIMON rubbish).

Totally unplayable on my surround rig, have given up now.

msi afterburner will show u gpu usage, as well as a lot of other stuff, temps etc

2GB 560ti's allow for a maxed experience. Your Vram will prevent you running 4xMSAA @ 1080p Ultra but if you step that down a notch all should be fine with similar if not better performance.

TBH I'm currently using 1 card clocked at 950Mhz Ultra except MSAA off, AA off, Motion Blur, off and it runs fine at 50+ fps, odd dip down in places but only noticable if you keep an eye of the frame rate in the corner or plot a graph. In the game it's as smooth as BF3 gets... with it's slightly iffy mouse interface.

I have a 120Hz LG screen but can't tell much difference in average 50 to average > 100 (msaa off). Though I do get around 250fps in L4D ... if only BF3 was so smooth.

I find it easier to spot enemy without the AA, especially on my 23" screen. Give me some nice jagged edges ;) so the other card is sitting idle for now. Will probably remove and stick in a different PC...

Edit ... the graph below is full ultra inc 4xMSAA , motion blur etc.

Keep what you have(even if you have to reduce some IQ) and oc them to hell and back.

For the amount of money it costs for any of the upgrades you mention, you will hardly notice any improvement at all on 1080p.
