I get decent temps for the most part but the current fans can be rather noisy so I was debating on replacing them with these. Would they be OK for it?

To be honest ide go for the Gentle Typhoons 1850 rpm.
I have them on my 620 and are almost near silent and push a superb ammount of air thru... They've knocked 10oC+ off my original temps..

Hi mate , I have same cooler and went for the venom vipers good static pressure for rads, knocked 10oC + off my temps, but i also changed my thermal compound same time to Ice diamond, so not sure what knocked temps down, but the fans are near silent, only hear them on full but they never reach full speed on my custom fan profile. Look cool too:D

How do you find the 620 mate as i am looking at getting one of these for my new i5 setup

I have a 620 and have used both GT's and Vipers on it, both are good and their is nothing in it temps wise. In the end I went with Vipers as they have PWM control, which made them a lot quieter.

Ive loved it ever since i purchased it....

Ive got mine running on my i5 over clocked at 4.5 ghz and running IBT on maximum stress im getting between 68 and 70oC

Like someone said in a previous thread, your temps will never get that high while gaming so im well pleased and best of all i cant hear it....

Thanks w00dy :) there doesn't seem to be much in the way of difference between the Vipers and the Typhoon which Stinger54 linked to. People have said that the Vipers are a tad loud at full tilt (1900RPM) so not sure really I still like the look of those turbine ones.

As i said in my previous post with the vipers, if you have the 920 on a custom fan profile you will probably never reach full tilt so won't notice them, when gaming on a 4.5 Oc my temps only reach 48/50oC about. IBT on max settings 10 passes reaches 68/70oC. I suppose its all down to personal choice.

I'm on 1366 socket so my temps are higher but I hear what you are saying. Will see if I can convince the missus :D

Sweet cheers for that, I have been really undecided on what CPU cooler to go for but have to admit the 620 has had fab reviews on here as well as many of reviewers on the web. If im honest i want to get rid of the "Big" air cooler and give myself some room to play with in my case and this seems to be a real good option. I did strat to look at the Gelid tho as it also got good reviews and didnt seem to be as arge as the Silver arrow and D14 etc. Im going to get a couple of gentle typhoons in a push pull setup and see how it goes.

I have been AMD for a while now so not right up with the intel side of things whats the safe temp zone on an i5 chip while overclocking and is there a max vcore i should look out for?

Thanks again for your advice regarding the 620

Stoner be cool to hear if the misses allows it of course :) how you get on with those fans

Going to talk very nicely to her tonight so I will let you guys know :) just had a thought too... if I go with the Vipers (which use a 4 pin connector) how do I attach them to the Khuler 920 since it uses 3 pin connectors? I can't remember how I have it wired up either which doesn't help. I know for the 3 pin connectors I just change the Smart Fan Control over to voltage (current setting) to allow the computer to increase/decrease fan speed when needed.

You can attach a 3 pin fan to a 4 pin connector but you will lose the 4th pin of course which is normally the PWM function. So it just means you will not be able to control the speed of the fan unless you maybe hook it up to a fan controller

Didn't think of that *facepalm* I will have a mooch through my motherboard manual and see what it says for doing that. From the information about the Vipers they shift more air than the Typhoons do so I might have to buy a couple (missus permitting of course :p)

Antec Khuler 920, 3pin from pump to cpu header on m/b, usb cable to usb header on m/b, 2 x 4 pin conectors from pump to vipers controlled by liquid temperature with supplied software. This is how mine is setup, took some time to balance liquid temps with cpu core temps but all is good now

Mines quite a high voltage to get it to 4.5ghz... its at 1.35v..

Theres some on here with better overclocking chip and they start from 1.3v

Just luck of the draw im lead to believe.....
