Yes she should go. If it was a white MP saying the same about blacks this question wouldn't even be asked. It is funny that this seems to be getting very little press attention compaired to what would be expected if a white public figure had made racist remarks.
 
Absolutely, racism is a two way thing and you don't need to be a minority to be offended. Stupid thing to say. If I said something similar about black people at work I'd be dismissed instantly.
 
I'm tempted to say this is what happens when people try to use Twitter for any kind of serious comment - that's possibly an error of judgement worthy of resignation but for the comments themselves? I'd struggle to care much less, it's a pretty stupid comment and one that maybe needs a proper apology but then again how many people here (or more generally) actually put any weight on Ms Abbott's Tweets anyway?

Resign from what?
Resign for a non-job given to her by a man with no power, and with no actual job description or perceived influence.

Yes she should resign from being shadow racist minister.

Diane Abbott has been a gob***** for most of her career, its not about race, its about a gobby person slobbering and doing little for society.
People still vote for her. Idiots.

PUNDIT Alan Hansen caused a storm last night by using the word 'coloured' as he debated the Luis Suarez race row on Match of the Day.

Hansen, 56, said there wasn't a racism problem in English football as "there's a lot of coloured players in all the major teams". Twitter users were shocked.

Ex-Kop player Stan Collymore said: "What colour would that be? Blue? Green? Orange?"
