Evening all,

Im new to the forum but loving it so far... i didnt expect there to be as many petrol heads on here as there are tbh!!

Was wondering how many M3 owners are about, would be great to see some pics / specs

Here are a few pics of mine

My E30 cecotto.... the best car iv ever owned!

My e36 evo, which is now my trackday car since the e30 got too valuable to risk tracking! Since the pics its been stripped, caged and tuned to 347bhp... great fun and at the moment these cars are the bargain of the century

My old e46, lovely car but the running costs were high for a daily driver, especially when i already had the other 2, so i sold it -

Which was replaced by this 330ci clubsport which ticks all the boxes as a daily runner, 30+ mpg quick enought when it needs to be and very comfortable

So, lets see some pics of yours then :)

Wow, what a stunning collection of cars and what fantastic colour you had on your E36 and 330Ci :D

What would be interesting is a comparison between your E46 M3 and your E46 330Ci Clubsport. I would imagine they are both very different to drive. Could you comment on the differences?

Thanks for the kind words guys :)

The alloys on the e30 are rondell 058's, 17x8 all round although they also do a 10" wide rear version which looks amazing on an e30!!

330ci vs m3.... your right, very different! The 330 is a 'lazy' car, its got most of its power low in the rev range where as m3's (any of them) have all the power over 6k, which IMO is not ideal for the daily work run or the shopping trip. I would sum it up like this, the 330 is 70% of what the m3 is, but with 40% of the running costs

This is how I've always thought of the 330Ci but I'm usually shot down by others who've not owned both. It's interesting to find somebody who has. How do you rate the handling differences between the two?

That E30 is simply stunning!
The E36 must be mental quick, do you know what you've got weight down too?

Fancy coming to the Donnington track day in February?

The m3 is definately sharper, more manageable at the limit and more fun than the 330 which really isnt built as an out and out performance car but to be honest the e46 m3 is put to shame handling wise by both the e36 and especially the e30. When i drove them back to back the weight and size of the e46 really shows, and the power it has as standard just isnt enough to compensate.

Iv not had it on the scales yet, but given the standard weight is @1500kg im guessing its down to around 1200-1250 now as literally everything has been thrown away that wasnt needed to make it move :D

Its funny you should mention donny in feb, a few of us were looking at doing a day there just a couple of hours ago! Which date are you doing? There seems to be a few at decent prices

Your E30 looks amazing. For me both cars have been great - the E92 being a big step up in terms of power and refinement but I still the E46. The E92 is up for sale though I've decided a V8V is a sensible buy.

Right, but useing that logic, how much of a 318i is in a 330Ci? How much is a Corsa SXi 1.2? etc etc

That argument doesn't really hold up. The M3 is genuinely sporty and a good, fun car, the 330Ci is not in the same ball game and is much closer to the 318i SE than the M3.

We looked at that one too, although their day on the international circuit at silverstone for £179 also looks tempting! CD are a decent company though, a step up from the focussed events / easytrack's of the world!

I need to replace the rear pads i killed at bedford autodrome just before xmas before i do any more outings lol

Awesome cars mate, and IMO the v8v is a cracking buy at the moment, i doubt you will loose money on a decent one!
