All over.
I've found a 2007 (07) Lexus IS250, which I'm going to have a look at tomorrow for £10450. To me it seems like there's a lot of car for the money.

SE-L model with:
-Automatic Gearbox
-Satellite navigation
-Mark Levinson Audio System
-Parking Camera
-Cruise Control
-Leather seats (Electric, heated/cooled)
-Keyless Entry and Ignition

I know it's probably not the most involving drive, but I've heard good things about reliability and quality. Having never driven and owned one, what should I look out for?

Hmm OK yes :) but keep your options open, there are bargains out there f you can wait and keep looking or take advice from those that know ;)
 
The SE-L with multi-media has a lot of kit that's for sure. I've looked at these in the past but there's never seemed like enough of a reason to actually buy one. For the money there always just seems to be a better (more appealing) car. In the main part I just don't think Lexus is up there with the Germans yet.
 
I used to own the manual IS250, they are great cars for the money and I now own an older GS300. Best thing to do is go and drive it, they are not the most involving drive, and for the fuel consumption, not as quick as you would expect.

Apart from those two points though I can't see any area the germans are better! I've driven both the Merc C class and the BMW 3 and in my opinion I don't see why you would buy them over the Lexus, however I understand I'm in the minority on that one!

Interior quality. This is the one area the Japs have still not nailed despite making huge inroads in the last 10 years. The interiors still just don't feel like a premium German car.
 
I drove it today. I liked it quite a bit. Drive felt comfortable in built up environments and on the motorway. The automatic gearbox was smooth. The V6 is quiet normally, gets noisy when you hit the 'Power' button. Seats were comfy and, in my opinion, the interior was quite a nice place to be.

The dealer dropped the price down to £9950 and says he'll throw in an iPod kit and updated sat nav disc (says it would cost them £450 normally). I can also get a 3 year fixed price service plan for £770 ish. He also valued my part-exchange (Golf 4 1.4 match) at £2250, which I'm fairly happy with. So, cost of change isn't that high.

I said I'll think about it. I was thinking of looking at some BMWs soon. But, just looking at the interwebs for BMW E90/E92s with similar specs give me a much higher price.

Is there anything about Lexus I should be wary about? I am thinking about going for it. So, convince me not to splurge my cash on this machine before I actually do!
