House isn't quite as clean as I would like it so thinking of hiring a cleaner for a one off to give it a proper clean.

Anyone on here done this? If so, who did you use and would you recommend them?

I live in NW London.

Google comes up with quite a few but would much rather use someone that someone has had personal experience with so there aren't issues with doing a poor job/security and what not.

By the time you've found someone trustworthy to do it for you you could have done it yourself.

who you looking at ringing? i run a cleaning company in surrey so don't cover your area but i work with some your way and have experience with quite a few so may be ale to help. where abouts you live in NW?

one thing i will say with spring cleaning is that you will prob still need to tidy your mess before they come so that they can get to the stuff to clean, and after doing this you may find you don't now mind getting a cloth and wiping the sides as you do it and running the vac around.

and to all those fools saying DIY, the same can be said to those asking for restaurants in the area, just do it yourself it's much cheaper. of course some peopel don't want to and hiring a team of cleaners to do a full spring clean will be a much better result then DIY one afternoon

I would set a day aside for it, or if it is bad split it up and do it over a few days.

Least that way you are more inclinced to keep it clean and tidy when you are the one having to clear up your own mess.

Got a woman that comes to mine and cleans for 8 quid an hour. I hand over £16 every weekend.

The place isnt a mess, but she mops, dusts, polishes, vacuums. Washes windows, etc. Basically anything that needs doing to bring my home back up to a spotless standard.

Oh, and yes she is fit :p (but married)

Purely out of curiosity, how much would you charge for cleaning a 2 bed house once a fortnight?

No it can't - I have no idea how to even begin summoning up the flavoursome nouvelle cuisine that my local restaurants serve up. Tidying up and getting out the Windowlene, kitchen spray and vacuum is much easier, though - and for the most part - entirely unskilled.

And less of the 'fool'-calling ye terrible gongoozler!

(You do, however, charge very reasonable rates) :D

ok well my point wasn't about the restuarants like 5* places but the many millions of pizza hut, fast food, low quality food, table table style places. the food served there is typically (imo) not as good as home made stuff which is easy enough to make, or even buy ready made just stick in the oven like they do, but many still eat as these places, e.g. people pay £15 for a large pizza instead of £3 for one at tesco which apparently is voted as a nicer pizza any way.

i personally do not like cooking so avoid it as much as possible. if i can afford it i don't see the problem the same as if someone doesn't like cleaning then why shouldn't they get a cleaner in. life is way too short to do boring pointless stuff you don't like doing that will only need to be done again in a week
