Nvidia Kepler vs 500 series specs released - **HOLY CRAP**

Rofl, we now have fake tables generated from fake charts.

Lol, although even if it was true it's still a fail from Nvidia's point of view? didn't they promise 3 times the performance of Fermi with Kepler, the dodgy fake looking info leaked so far is around twice the previous cards, so Nvidia didn't deliver...

I won't be surprised if the GTX 780 is almost twice as fast as the GTX 580 but how much will it cost?

Is that really what Nvidia promised in gaming or are you getting confused with what they promised.

hmmm an interesting point to bear in mind about BF3 is that it has optimal coding for nvidia graphics cards. This is probably the reason why we don't see much gain from the new ATI cards, but should see some sort of substantial gain from new Nvidia ones.

Sucks tbh lol

I don't see Nvidia cards distancing AMD further with new driver releases so I call BS.

I hope not mate, as I prefer to get a 7970 tbh!!! - I'm gunna wait till prices settle though first.

Having had all sorts of nvidia and ati cards since back when I started gaming, I can always tell the difference between the two - ATI seems to have better quality, whereas Nvidia gains slight performance but don't look at good as ATI cards.

Look into it though - it probably explains why its harder for ATI to get better gains from BF3 due to nvidia custom coding optimisations in BF3 :(
All the 'leaked benchies' I've seen so far are for high res (above 1080p) and only for BF3 for the nvidia stuff. Whereas we have confirmed benchies for ATI 7970's

Nvidia claimed 3x the performance per watt, not 3x the performance.

So that could mean the same power usage and 3x the performance, but then again it could mean the same performance but 3x less power consumption...

In reality it'll be somewhere inbetween.

Only official statment I've seen from nvidia is 20% gain over the last gen so far.... (that puts it roughly in the same ballpark as ATI)

It was on their main website talking about the new process for the next gen - hmmm, might be wrong as I can't seem to find it now! :(

Still, there is no confirmed information from nvidia about 2x (let alone 3x performance gains) seeing as that 'leaked information' is all being sourced from one website (WCG) doing its rounds in rumour mill in a regurgitated format....

The 3x performance per watt thing is from one of their slides from a presentation nvidia did ages ago, I'll try and find it..

EDIT: seems like its for CUDA double precision, not gaming anyway :(

Maybe we can look into what amd are doing atm as a sign of what nvidia have up there sleave. Amd most likely know what nvidia have at there disposal and vice versa. I think amd would have been more agrresive with the 7970 clock speeds and price if nvidia had anything remotely threatening coming any time soon.

Those charts are all just made up from some fanboi who has woken up from some kind of nvidia wet dream. I fully expect nvidia to come into the market with a faster card than the 7970 but when is another matter. Nvidia push the limits with there design's which makes them late and not always in a good way. The gtx480 was a little under whelming on release because it was so late and only proved to be a little faster than the 5870.

From leaks things seem to be following the same kind of path as the last round meaning for me that nvidia are going big once again which makes them late to the market. I wonder this time though when nvidia do release there cards whether its worth waiting for them as they showed be beastly as surely nvidia wont make the same mistakes as the gtx480 twice.

Oh well, hopefully we will see near double the performance with the GTX 700 range, the HD 7970 does it with overclocking (HD 7970 = 2 x HD 6970 when overclocked) but I imagine Nvidia's will come blisteringly fast at stock (Higher clocks) and maybe not overclock aswell as will already be near it's limits. Question is how much will Nvidia charge? The GTX 580 has and still is overpriced imho, can't see the GTX 780 being any cheaper :/.

Don't really understand why AMD clocked the cards so low, even 1000Mhz core would have made sense if they can all reach 1200-1300Mhz..
