Is this pretty much a standard overclock or do you think its a bit extreme.

Just thought i'd share what Im running at, anything good/bad or indifferent you can see.

I could alway take control of the fans manually and run them all at 90% to drop temps even more but alls well on auto

This is consisting of
Asus P8Z68-vpro gen3 mobo
2 x 4gb Corsair Vegenace LP 1600mhz DDR3
i5 2500k
Corsair 850w Gold series
Thermalright Silver Arrow cooler
Cosmos 1000 case

The difference in 3 pics is the tab in Cpuid showing CPU, Memory and SPD

I5 2500k @ 4.6ghz VERY easy and standard, temps are good but what are the temps when using prime or Intel burn test?

4.7ghz and upwards is much harder to do

I couldn't get 4.7ghz stable and keep intel burn test temps under 80c so i gave up there. Not to mention it wasn't stable at 1.368v either with or without pll enabled.

The Noctua NH-U12P SE2 is good but id love an NH D14 but i just cant afford it.

yeah temps on prime were ok too, cant remember off top of head what they were at but it was in the 70's, the intel burn test I never tried that program out but i could do.

I did fancy the noctua but for athsetics and near on par performance the silver arrow won it for me. What a beast of a cooler and although a turd to fit...it does its job well
