anyone own a 2008 audi s3?

I ran a quote for an Audi S3 then. £1300, 21 year old, 1 NCB. Not too bad tbh.

My Cupra costs £700 a year.

Did a couple of random quotes

Leon FR 2.0L 210PS - £1100
Golf GTI 2.0L 210PS - £1500
Scirocco GT 2.0L 210PS - £1400
Audi A4 S line 2.0L 210PS - £1000

All the same engine and near enough the same value but £500 between some of the quotes!

My 335i was £600 at 27.

Mine was about the same.

£860 at 23 with 1 years NCB and exhaust declared.

If the Admiral/Bell/Elephant group ever go under i'm screwed. I did a random insurance quote today and the next cheapest premium for me is £2300

How old is the OP?

This thread should be made null and void as the quotes you receive now will be different to the ones you'll receive when you're actually ready to get one!

OP I'm assuming you have plucked 2008 out of the air due to the facelift and OMG R8 DRLzzzz (which came out 58 plate onward I might add)

I wanted one, and spent quite slot of time in one through my mate owning and using one my dad had in stock for a few weeks.

Get an golf Edition 30.
Cheaper to insure, cheaper on petrol, cheaper to buy, cheaper on tyres and more or less identical inside bar the one piece dash and dash illumination. Also IMO handles better and once mapped faster.

nope i finished college ages ago, im nearly 19 and am employed as a repair/maintenance engneer

so im not a kid thanks

These quotes seem so low :( I could potentially have a 56 plate A3 2.0tdi 170 Sline when i turn 20, in a few months, and 3 years no claims = £2500 :( Surely the fact it's an A3 and not a S3 should give me a decent £1500 quote...

I'm 23 and did a quote on a brand new Golf R the other week, that was £800/12 months with both parents as named drivers. 2yr NCB.

Can't believe the quotes are coming back that low THB, I did think at least £2500 - so fair play

oh @ 19 your a kid - I know this cos I'm OLD 41 :D

Whilst it's hardly the fastest or most dangerous, a car with 260+ BHP and 155 limited top speed is probably not a great combination with a 19yr old with a max of. 2yrs driving experience. What do you drive at the moment? Also the S3 is a very thirsty car for it's engine size my friend averaged 22 MPG during his ownership, so if you do lots of miles might be worth considering.

Can we not assume he come from a wealthy family?
