Is Diablo 3 going to be released soon?

Ignore me if I'm being a fool, but I've just noticed my local game shop has Diablo 3 boxes on the shelf and some posters up!

Is this a sign of things to come or am I just overly excited?

I wish they'd hurry up. I have got completely bored playing the same small portion of the game over and over again on beta. Even with 5 classes to try out, it gets old after a while.

Will be done when its done sometime in 2012 hopefully the boxes/artwork was done prematurely the game is still without a release date hopefully before summer but Blizzard time=Valve time

I have had mine on pre order since April 2010. Can't get here fast enough.

Our game has had Diablo placeholders since October last year.

It's all just guessmongering. Assume nothing until the Blizzard announcement.

I've heard nothing saying so, and I hope not. Having a cheat free and good economy is a deal breaker for me. I have no desire to put the effort into getting good gear if people are just cloning it.

I really cant see it being released in February. That would be only a months notice.

I would expect it March or April time at the earliest.

Think i read something about Gamestop making signs for diablo 3 counting down to Feburary 1st so seems long way to go for a placeholder date, no?

Still seems to short a time to leave for a release date to be annoced offically thou but i do suspect late Feb early March.

I posted a link in the Diablo 3 thread with Bashiok @Blizzard saying that they normally announce release of there games 2 months in advance.

We probably won't end beta until shortly before release, and traditionally we've tried to announce release dates about two months before release. I couldn't speculate how invites might ramp up or down when the beta finally comes to a close, it definitely is not coming to a close yet though.

ya they will really want to hype this up also - so 2 months puts us in march atm even if they announced right now which doesnt look that way.

If you actaully saying when you think the release is likely to be, I'd play it safe and say Q3 2012 earliest.
