iPhone 4 tethering 3g as wifi to my atv2 - quality?

Hi,

I have an ATV2 and am thinking of getting an iPhone 4 and was wondering if anybody has tried tethering the iphones 3g as wifi to the ATV2?

If so what is the quality like when watching a movie? Is it constantly buffering?

Tethering to use with a ATV? I seriously doubt you'd want to considering the size of the movies, data allowances are what 500mb / 1GB / 3GB?

It might be technically possible as you're turning your phone into a WiFi hotspot and dependent on connection/signal & lag but is it realistically a good idea I don't think so.

Would really depend on how good your 3G signal is at the time, only way is to try it.

However as above, It will kill your data allowance in one or two films unless your on unlimited

even on a unlimted 3g data plane soon as you start hammering it you get a text message asking you to stop or have slower enforced speeds for a month.

was watching somat on tv catch on my iphone when wifi signal got disconnected and got a message. not sure how long i was viewing over 3g tho

i use my tethering quite a bit. i am on 3's the big one plan and have unlimited data. and i have downloaded a lot of stuff on it. Gigs worth. as my net went down for about a week. infact i even linked it to my xbox and played BF3 quite resonably. but it depends on your area obviously dont i have had download speeds of up to 800kb/s ,is that 8 meg ? using my phone

Unless you're with GiffGaff, I used 6.5GB last month and about the same for a couple of months before that, they haven't even mentioned it to me.
