Hello. Ive just linked my new 22" monitor which is full HD to my old 19" monitor which isn't. Ive heard it is possible to be able to move your mouse from one screen to another when gaming(game on one monitor and something different on the other monitor). For example I could use the web browser while gaming without using the alt + tab in order to minimise the game. Does anyone know how to do this?

~Thanks

You can set it up within windows.

Right Click Desktop > Screen Resolution > Set to 2 monitors

You can also do this in the graphics card options.

EDIT: clicking the 2nd monitor will bring you out of the game.

Only problem with this is one of my screens is full hd and the other isn't.

Hmm, i use to have 1050p monitor and a 720p monitor and both worked fine, i wish i could remember how i set it up.

I swear there is an option to set each monitors resolution.

Well they are at different heights. Ile post a picture up in a minute! :) I don't fancy gaming over two monitors either.

You just simply extend the 2nd monitor in the display settings. In order to prevent the tabbing out you have to play your games in windowed mode.

Ahh ok. Another quick question. Is it ok to tab out of a game a lot. A while back I did hear its not good to do so. I thought ide ask because there is a lot of ******** spread about, lol

Try to get them even height at the bottom. Different resolution is fine, you can set them independently. Right click, display options, then drag the windows around until they match their real life positions. Extended desktop not duplicated is what you want.

Yeah but I don't want extended for gaming.

EDIT: It says I have it on extended!

It doesn't extend your game, it will display on your primary monitor.

Exactly, the game will go fullscreen on your primary, leaving the secondary free for other stuff (eg temp monitoring, chat windows such as mumble, secondary tasks you want to keep an eye on). Some games support two monitors, for instance supreme commander is epic for it (map on one screen, zoom in on the other allows you to keep an eye on the whole game while coordinating close attacks). Try it now! Make sure the monitors are set up the same way they are in real life (ei, your secondary is on the right of your primary) so when you drag a window over it pops out the right side rather than coming in from the wrong side.

yeye, I have that sorted bud ;) The background image makes it look as if its set on duplicate but its not ;)

I'd keep gaming on one screen. Gaming over two screens like that will just be rubbish. Either stick to one screen and use the second for monitoring temps etc, or in a few games such as FSX you can put a few panels or different views on the second screen. Only other option is eyefinity with 3 matched screens.

Yeah this is what I intend to do. I don't fancy the black/silver line down the middle, lol.
