I'm guessing it just means PvP reward vendors, like you have commendation vendors for each planet, i doubt the items you acquire in PvP and from PvP vendors is restricted to PvP only.

Agreed!
is there class story stuff on Ilum?

No, class quest ends then you get one more generic quest sending you off to Ilum. Once you hit 50 you can get the Bel Savis bonus series and hit up Ilum and do the quests there both of which give you dailies for "Daily Commendations" which allow you to buy epic mods/barrels/hilts/enhancements/armoring (lvl 51) as well as some epic ear gear and implants. There are also a couple of epic mounts for 200 Daily Comms each.

Mods etc are 8 each and ear/implants are 120 each.

Nope PvP acquired items are no restricted to PvP only, as a matter of fact they are sometimes better than PVE items as u level up, u get a blue belt and braces and lvl 20, a weapon at lvl 14 (or around there) and at lvl 40 u can get a full set that will be better than anything you might have unless you craft your own gear, I as sybertech skipped lvl 40 items and just grinded for the pvp gear which is 100% PvE for all 3 roles healer tank and DPS, I got myself a DPS and Tanking set and some pieces for my companion.

so PvP has its advantages and is relatively easy to acquire, a day in WZ's will get u a full set and then some :)

and it is good fun :D

I'm starting to wonder about continuing my sub too. I KNOW it's not supposed to be a SWG successor in any way, but Tatooine really bought home just how limited the game is. "Turn back, exhaustion zone!" when trying to leave the outskirts of Anchorhead was just lame, and you can't help remembering the huge sprawling cities like Sunfall on SWG.

It was at this stage too that I realised how rubbish the crafting is - I'm crafting the exact same stuff I was when I started, except now it's Might Hilt 10 instead of 1.

The stories are keeping me interested for the moment, but I can't see it being a long term thing.

Wow, I felt the exact same way when I first hit Tatooine. It was the first recognisable planet from the movies, and the first thing I did after exploring Anchorhead was jump on my speeder and go off into the desert to explore as far as I could.

Which turned out to be not very far - just 10 metres outside the walls of Anchorhead in places. Huge, huge fail. The exploration and wonder aspect of Star Wars is such an intrinsic part of the mythology that I cant believe BW dropped the ball on that. Granted, the dune sea is "quite big".

Im not totally negative about it though - the artwork and atmosphere is terrific, and overall Im still enjoying the game immensely.

I also dont play as much as some, my highest level char is 40 - so Im nowhere near burned out and will continue my sub without question.

So which areas are meant for L50's then - Ilum & belsavis bonus series are the only ones I've heard of so far.

Do more companion quests unlock with level (assuming you have the required affection rating).

One final thing, the heroic operations - does this mean we can do "Black talon" heroic? @ 50? - also, are they much harder than the lower level flashpoints (taking into account the superior L50 gear).

Currently I've been 2 manning all of the flashpoints & would love to be able to 2man the heroics also.

Hmmm, i hear you about the exploration factor in this game, and that it doesn't take long to encounter an exhaustion zone, but i have 4 characters in this game on either side, they're both identical, but i do love the game.

-Jedi Guardian, Tank.
-Jedi Sage, Crowd Control.
-Trooper Vanguard, DPS.
-Smuggler Scoundrel, Healer.

Love all of them.

Yes Black Talon is rather difficult without the right gear, enrage timers suck if you don't have the DPS and one of the bosses is a nightmare and most people bug him to kill him, I know that's how I killed him the only time I ran the instance.

firstly i don't get the people complaining about running into exhaustion zone just outside anchorhead. just turn around, go the other way, and a massive bloody desert opens! anchorhead just happens to be the most northern part of that zone. go south and there's miles of sand you can wallow in, then head over to the dune sea and there's miles more.

secondly where the hell do i get the alderaan bonus series? i've been everywhere. i went back at 41 cuz i heard it was higher level than the planet was but i can't find the guy on the planet, on the fleetship, temple, anything. google was no help, it sent me to 3 different places and all 3 had no new quests. one said someone on the fleetship sent me to speak to the guy from the opening cutscenes but i can't find either.

edit- this is republic btw

This is dissapointing to hear as someone who is teetering on the edge of purchasing (but like you likes the immersive side of adventuring rather than just following quest objectives) - is it just true for Tatooine or sets the scene for the entire game?

It's not bad, it's just annoying when you think you can go a certain way, or you turn into Idiana Jones and you encounter an exhaustion zone, but a lot of the planets are big and the game is thoroughly enjoyable, but i'm disappointed with Nar Shaddaa, Coruscant v2.

The planets themselves are quite big, but you are kind of railroaded in going certain ways which didnt make a good 1st impression for me on Tatooine.

I did have fond memories of Tatooine from SWG and the freedom, you could just speed off in whatever direction you wanted and explore. Not being able to do that in SWTOR was a let down.

On balance, the planet does open up a bit later on and you get access to much larger areas - all of which have great atmosphere and quality.

Ahh dam.

Not much chance of me (Jugger tank) + companion healer + bro (Maurader) + companion healer 2 manning these if they have enrage timers.

A shame really as it's nice to be able to push how far you can go with 2 players.

Hi mate, I really don't think it would be possible, the first boss would mess you up. The exploding droids it summons hit for 7-8k, so you need to kite them while also doing damage and stuff. Would be very difficult.

Reminds me of IG-88 and the Imperial Star Destroyer instance on SWG.

Hmm, that will be a shame - I guess I can always try.

I'm currently on Boa-Dur atm - I don't think anybody from this website is on there (moving around launch due to the massive server ques in Frostclaw) - Doh!

Word to many my guild did Eternity Vault last night and sadly its bug ridden!. The fights are nice but the loot boxes are bugged :( Missed out on some nice items because of it.

Its all being fixed in patch 1.1 tho!.
