It was a bug mate, no idea what happened but for the record you simply can't turn damage down to zero, its not possible as its not a server setting. None of us had any idea why it happened but it resolved itself on the next round.

One thing I can tell you though, it was nothing to do with the admin team.

I'm not getting into a chat about the server though as we don't do that outside our forums but I can assure you it was a bug.

Ah I apologize for the small flame :)

We did think it was somone cheating at first, then a bug but after the game ended 10 seconds later when we had 45 tickets we got a bit annoyed :(

NP mate, Its as frustrating on the admin side as it is on the player side, I’m sure.
Most people think that if something happens it must be the admin :P. Not a day goes by that someone is accusing you of something.

Take "Bad Luck" deaths for example, despite them being a well-documented problem there is still a huge percentage of the player base that think that dying by "Bad Luck" is actually the admin killing them. I or one of the other chaps monitoring are thanked maybe 3 or 4 times each day/evening, when questioned the person will announce "you admin killed me because I was ownzing". A lot of people have visions of grandeur (not you btw). They think they are so good that someone would bother to kill them via an admin command. So off you go to procon to see what the hell happened and sure enough "Player Collision" is the kill reason and the person in question is arguably the worst player on the whole team, but of course its not a Dice server bug....ITS THE ADMINZ!!!!1penguin. ;)

1 admin can spoil the whole bunch in games like this. One of them abuses their power and every admin is branded like this.. Damn power abusers :p

Bow down and worship thee or we will use thy rcon tool to kill you. :D

Unless I'm missing something, voice is terrible in this game. You have to download a separate program to use it. Why couldn't they do a L4D-style in-game VOIP? Something to do with bandwidth I presume?

Shame that for a game relying so much on teamwork that getting everyone on voice comms is so difficult. I suppose the answer is - squad up with friends that you know use TeamSpeak etc.

Any other tips?

The team I play with use xbox 360's for chat. It actually works quite well...

I have you friends in Battlelog you can apparently create a party and use comms through that. I'm billy no mates so haven't tried this myself :D

I generally jump on a TS server with friends (and family) and try and squad up. Even if we are on opposite teams, it does make good banter and makes the game more enjoyable.

With Mumble et al, do you have to manually control whether or not you hear people on the other team or is that done automatically / via a server setting? What if various people on your team are on four different Mumble servers?

Yeah, as far as I know, but on the OcUK mumble we normally all join the same team/squad.

We are all in the same TS channel regardless of team/squad. Its funny to listen to people scream when you kill them :P

our TS is public and we broadcast its IP in chat spam so that anyone in the server can join it. You get the odd clown tbh but even that can be funny.
