im running Wow at ultra settings, no v sync, 60hz but im getting capped on 111 fps for some reason, anyone know if iv got something that might be turned on stopping it going above?

If you monitor can only handle 60fps is it a big problem that your system is capping at 111?

I'd recommend just enabling vsync and being comfortable in the knowledge that you have a good fps overhead and won't ever feel a dip below 60.

I believe WoW is a cpu intensive game, have you checked your cpu/gpu usage when this cap is reached? you could just be at the limits of your system for that game.

It's capped because that's how far the slider in the graphics options goes I believe.
You can also do /console max fps x where the x can be replaced with the highest frames per second that you'd like.

If you do /console maxfps 0 the limit is gone completely - I think.

its not about need, im just confused why it would cap at 111?

im happy with my arvg 70fps

I believe it was capped following the situation with StarcraftII and a few similar static screens in WoW where with powerful cards, the FPS would run off into the multihundreds, causing overheating issues and other such problems.
