Guys, what is your stock Vcore as per MSI afterburner?
Mine shows as 1.112v in Afterburner but drops to 1.067v in game.
The latter is not enough for 1125Mhz..

Check your PSU 12v rail under load
It is somewhat odd as this is what I get:
![]()
You can see the voltage to the right (1.087v) is lower than the voltage selected (1.112v). It fluctuates in game around the 1.04-1.06 level.
How do I go about checking my 12v rail? I don't any specific monitoring tools barring what I could find online.
My PSU is a BeQuiet L7 530w which was rock solid with my HD6970 so I can only assume it isn't enough for the extra load the HD7970 requires.
EDIT: Looking at it, apart from the fluctuations it doesn't actually drop in game. It is almost as if the voltage isn't mapped corrected?! Setting 1.112v (which is what mine shows as stock) doesn't "map" to 1.112v on the card itself?!
You will have "probe" or similar with you motherboard software... or you can just use CPUZ hardware monitor (free)
Check the power settings in CCC they may influence power levels![]()
I will check those out, thanks
Powertune was set to +20% and I have tried 0% with no difference.
mcdermotx - 12.1a didn't work at all with my HD7970. It installed the "manager" but not CCC. Rather frustrating as I run Portrait Eyefnity which mean craning my neck to work out anything...
How's the fan noise on these Cards guys ?
As long you don't overclock it - trust me, there is NO noise at all - your system fans will be noisier tbh.
It's when you start overclocking it gets higher but even then its next to nothing. I only did a quick test to see what the fan was like at fullwhack - thats loud but you should never have to use it at 100%
2 thoughts, is Afterburner correctly supporting these cards yet ? also I would turn off afterburner voltage control so it does not interfere, just monitor voltage & reboot and try again.
Fan noise sound's a little to good to be true to mewhat temps will they hold at "silent" speeds ?
