bt is trialing 110mb fiberoptic in my town atm ive been trying to find somebody at bt to speak to about signing up but im having no luck.
most are denying it even exists although ive seen them replacing the fttc boxes over the past year all over town and theres loads of openreach vans everywhere as well as seing my town ashford (middlesex) mentioned on several websites in regards to the trial.

anyone know where i can actually talk to the right people at bt to get on the trial or atleast register interest.?

because ive heard bt are planning on rolling out 300mb on there fttp in the near future.

What is the deal with FTTP - is the aim to eventually upgrade everyone to FTTP, or is it likely only going to happen on mass new builds and the like?

i presume bts eventual aim is fttp for all but unless your in a trial area for it i fear it will take a while to get it atleast until fttc has full coverage

I couldn't imagine them pushing residential FTTP for years, they have just invested masses into FTTC and with such a spare rollout as it stands they couldn't afford to push the latter services.

What I don't understand is why they are still rolling out 21CN WBC to places now and in the future when its already been superseded. Its pointless as people far from the exchange will will get little or no benefit from it ( these are the ppl that need the speed increase) and only the ppl very close to the exchange will see anything like fast broadband. At least if they roll out fftc everywhere ppl that live 3 miles+ from the exchange can still have a fast service. Not many home users really need more than 20 - 30 meg connections.

I thought this was because 21CN is a prerequisite for FTTC? The ADSL2+ feature is just an added benefit.

21cn is more about improving the whole bt network though isn't it?
It will be years before everyone has decent internet in this country. For example, where I live we haven't got 21cn yet, but we do have llu. Demand is so poor for internet that there are still more houses with no internet than those with decent internet. I can't see that changing very rapidly as people aren't moving here, and the young folk move away to get jobs...
