Hello,

Iv just finished putting together my 1st PC build, but when i press the power button, nothing happens so im forced to turn the PC on using the power button on my MOBO (ASRock P67 Pro3 Rev 1.02). When the PC is on it loads up to the BIOS. I set everything up and then clicked 'Exit', then the screen went black for a second or two then took me to the BIOS again.

I want to boot Windows 7 off of my HDD which I used on my old PC. I posted a thread on here about how to do that here:

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18355013

SO, one of they guys gave my a link to download the Windows 7 version that i have which is Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, he said to burn it to a black DVD-RW disc so I did. Now when I put the disc in while on the BIOS nothing happens?

Whats wrong and how do I resolve this problem?

PC Specs are:

Intel i5 2400 3.10GHz (w/ Coolmaster TX3)
Sapphire HD 5850 (OC Edition)
ASRock P67 Pro3 Rev 1.02
500W Corsair PSU
2 x 2GB Kingston RAM
500GB HDD
Antec 300 Case

you need to set the boot priorities in the BIOS to make sure that the dvd drive is first and the hard drive second, then reboot and it will boot into the disc :)

you dont need a video tutorial, just have a look around your BIOS and familiarize yourself with it so that you are comfortable using it and you will see where it is :)

I only have one boot option

'Windows boot manager'

then below it it says 'disable'

The rest of it says:

Setup prompt timeout - 1
boot-up num lock - on
full screen logo - enabled
add-on rom display - enabled
boot from on-board lan - disabled
boot failure gaurd - enabled
boot failure gaurd count - 3

Can you not click on boot option priorities? Or is that the title?

EDIT: looking at the manual thats the title.
If you click on the box to the right of "boot option #1" does it let you change it?

Also, is the DVD drive definitely plugged in? Power and SATA. Worth checking.

It doesnt let me change it, and yeah ive checked them more than once now

From what I can tell, they concluded in the thread you linked to that you might be able to use the same license but you need to re install windows. Mind you you said start up repair started? Try running that and see what happens.

I havent read the other thread but from what i gather you have built a new pc and you are trying to use the harddrive from the old pc and use the windows installed on that harddrive (from what i gather if im wrong i apologise :))

If it was me even if the windows loaded up i would reinstall anyway as your using totally diffrent hardware and you may get strange things happening if you try and use your old windows setup. just put the windows disk in and format the drive and start again
