*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

I think G-Man said they give out "Daily Comms" ? Can get some earpieces with them i think for cheap and some other mods/armouring... could be mistaken.

Daily Commendations you can buy:

Armor/Hilts/Barrels - 8 Each
Ears - 120 Each
Implants (I think) - 120 Each
Mounts (2 different ones) - 200 Each

I also reckon they should do a mobile app that allows you to send your companions on missions when at work etc, I'd prob pay a few quid a month extra for something like that.

Well, I'm officially bored of SWTOR - will not be renewing my next month.

Nice decent game, just not my cup of tea.

It's a shame pal - but not for everyone, maybe in a few months there might be something to tempt you back :)

At least you gave it a run though - what class/faction etc... did you play? What elements of it bore you?

err i believe there is, someone linked it earlier on in this thread. forget the name of it now, it was about 2-3 quid

edit- seems to be called something like companion remote or something, made by hypercane studios. give it a google, it's quite high rated on android market

I posted one - but it requires the game to be on at home - so more of a remote desktop type thing - it would be good for an official one though which wouldnt require the remote desktop side of things.

Still the current one is an interim solution at least!

oh. well i've got that splashtop thing atm to do mine with so guess it is no more than that

GF is away visiting her family for 3 weeks, so Im going to do a "drive" from 40-50 on my main (will still be working though). Should be a cheap 3 weeks for entertainment hehe :D.

Played a JK to 30 and BH to 36.

Enjoyed the BH a lot more but the whole linearity of levelling/questing PvE and lack of PvP elements just doesn't do it for me. I prefer games where I can get straight into the action from the start, such as games like DAoC, Planetside, WAR etc.

I just can't seem to enjoy it any more, the start was nice with the voice overs as it was a nice addition but then it just takes its toll.

I'm hoping for Planetside 2 beta to be released soon, as well as GW2 and hope to god these keep my interest!

I noticed the belsavis bonus series open up when i hit 50 - are the rewards any good as belsavis commendations are useless.

Anybody here on Boa-Dur btw? - want to try some heroics on my tanky jugger :P - anybody know how they are performing as tanks currently (VS the powertech/shadow)

The belsavis bonus series unlocks a bunch of dailies in the area that give daily commendations, much more useful than the belsavis comms :)

I feel the same way after doing 30 on sage & 30 on sith marauder. The voice overs are annoying as hell now i just wanna click & be done. Because apart from the main class line story the rest is basically do this, go here, do that, kill this repeat said in a slightly different way.

Yeah some areas are quite spacious but it still doesn't feel like a vast star wars world. Kinda on rails in places if you ask me. Its like the MMO became an afterthought.

Battlefields are gimped for me 10-15fps all times, i'm not expecting miracles from my machine but when its 40-50fps in PvE you can kind of understand my frustration. PvP is the only real reason I play MMO's & no end of tweaking will fix this if you have kept an eye on the 8 threads of FPS issues on the forums.

2-5 second delay on casting ablities at times in the battlefields makes it even more impossible, Ping is totally fine too.

Space combat is boring, just hover mouse & click constantly, No freedom at all.

Theres more I cannot think of off the top of my head but maybe I was expecting more from a Star Wars MMO.

I find myself doing the same tbh. If i don't care for the characters, i don't want ot listen to what they say. The questing is really linear and i just want to get through the minor quests as quickly and as efficiently as possible.

There are people that are being really critical of the game (which is justified imo) and those that think it's really good and enjoying it. it would be interesting to see which of these people have played mmo's before, and therefore are used to the whole grinding formula and those who are playing TOR as thier first mmo.

Still struggling to find a reason to play at the moment, other than levelling a new alt.

The daily quests are grindtastic (and bugged - 2/5 can't be completed on Ilum!).

Only just hit 50 and already feeling a bit meh about it.

Hating the fact that there is no reason to gear up in PvE at the moment when wz's are stupidly easy to get gear in.

No one does flashpoints hardly, took me 4 attmepts to get a group together for colicoid wargame and still can't get one for red reaper.

No one is running HM flashpoints. There are tons of lvl 50s on the fleet and they all just sit there waiting for wz queues.

As much as i enjoy the occasional pvp i can't just sit and grind warzones all day long would much prefer to be doing flashpoints but it seems like this is turning into a pvp only game.

Ok here is my annoyance, how linear some stories are, I'll give an example below...
Spoilers for war/op story below
On my warrior quest, I was sucking up to Baras like a mofo, saying how amazing he was, brown nosing like a mofo, another guy in the guild trash talked him the whole way through... Now the result was the same, we both had to **** him up, I felt a little disappointed by this because after doing the Operative story up to the end of act 1 I had a choice, I could kill the daughter or the dad. I felt a little robbed of having freedom and choice in the warrior story.

I'm really considering whether to sub or not after my last free 8 days are up.

I like the story but I don't think it meshes well with the grind and the grind is a lot more drawn out than in wow (my comparison as that's the game I would play otherwise) I am a lot more casual these days due to RL and I find wow more accesable to this as well as more solo friendly.

I'm at 43 and I can't really be bothered to finish levelling despite enjoying the story. On alts I'm already mashing space bar to skip talking as on quests I have done before it's plain irritating now.

Logged into wow (3 or 4 dats until sub expires) and done an instance, raid as well as some dailies and found it quite fun.

Really undecided :(:rolleyes::p

There could only BE one outcome for a Dark Side force user. You watched the intro videos and have seen the Star Wars films, right?

Republic builds dark side points and vice versa, that wasnt in the movies. Everything just feels too linear and the story therefore inconsequential.
