I'm currently using the Corsair A70 and I'm happy with it but I feel I could make better use out of a water cooling setup instead. I've been able to run my i5 at 4.0GHz on air but I'd like to take it up to 4.5GHz and not have to worry about it.

I'm using the Zalman Z9 Plus so it needs to be able to fit in there for now, I'm planning to get the Corsair 600T (or another of their new series cases) in the next few months though.

I've looked at the following:

Antec H20 920

Corsair Hydro H80

and the

Corsair Hydro H100

I'm happy to spend up to £100 in total for the cooling, I've read people tend to swap out the fans and such for quieter ones.

I'm just looking here to see what other peoples opinions are on these units and their experience with them, cheers!

Bought an Antec 920, was pretty quiet and easy to install. Didn't OC too much on my I5 2500k, but quite happy with my 4.5ghz setting and temps.

Can't say anything about the Antec but you will not have any problems getting 4.5 with either of the Corsairs. If you have space in the case get the big one.

Im using the H100, and getting great temps with my 2500k overclocked to 4.7, My only gripe is the noise from the pump (a fairly quiet humming noise) can get a little annoying.

If you have the room the H100. If not I can vouch for the H80 being a superb cooler, keeps my 2600K well under 70c under load at 4.8ghz :D

Can't speak for the 920 but I hear very good things, similar if not better performance to the H80.

Remember with either of the Corsair coolers (again can't speak for the antec?) you may want to consider swapping out the stock fans for something like GT1850's. Stock fans are deafening to say the least.

I have the antec 920 very happy with it, fans can be loud on full tilt , swapped mine out with vipers dont hear a peep out of it now. Temps are very good , i also changed the TIM for ice diamond also Vgood stuff. A lot less hassle than a custom loop and far cheeper. Not a fan of BIG air coolers.

The Corsair A70 is quite a good cooler it should cope with 4.5GHz easily.
I'd save the money towards your new case or get some High quality case fans, like the Scythe Gentle Typhoons or Akasa Apache Black Super Silents.
You can then carry these over to your new case aswell.

I agree with you there Davefran, it's serving me well I will admit. I just feel that the looks of my build will look a lot better with the WC unit and I can imagine the temperatures will too.

Money is not a 'big' issue, I don't mind waiting and saving up for stuff. I think I'm going to go for the 600T first and then the WC unit and fans, more than likely the H100.

Enough said :D

@ the OP

I too have the 920 and the stock fans can be pretty loud at full whack but I am planning on swapping them out for Vipers or something similar. I have a thread about it here if you are interested :)

Stoner81.

For the price of the case, H100 then extra fans like vipers you could get something like this.
It would be much better than the H100.

OcUK Tech Lab - V12 Watercooled Case - Coolermaster HAF X

Looks really good, I must admit.. but I'm skeptical and I don't know why.

I highly dislike the HAF X though, which is a shame.. but they do have the 650D on there too.. which is tempting.

Anyone got any experience with these pre-built WC kits? And back on the Closed Liquid Cooling questions, can anyone tell me how load the H100 actually is? Would it be much louder than my air cooler and additional fans are at the moment?
