Need need help changing some numbers on a jpeg

I have a jpeg image and want to change a few numbers on it.

I tried paint but there's no font in there that's the same as the one on the image. Please can someone help? How can I do this?

do you have photo shop? if not you can get a good free program called GIMP its like photoshop only free

Thanks I've got GIMP but don't know how I actually go about changing the numbers on the jpeg? What menus/tools do I use?

I basically want to overwrite some numbers with different ones using the same font.

post up the image and what you want changing to, im sure someone can have a look for you or i can try and tell you how to do it

If someone can change those numbers to read 05 I would be very grateful! Even better explain how you did it in GIMP

Thanks! Please can you tell me what program you used and how you knew the font and size?

I did it in photoshop. I could tell the font as arial, and just matched it up by eye.

Wish I had the eye for that I'm gonna try changing it in GIMP just to see if I can do it, wish me luck... thanks again mate

Done it! All I need to do is figure out how to move my 05 number over the 26. I select the move tool but it moves the page under the 05 instead!?

GIMP is pretty cool Managed to do some more alterations, like the transparancy tool it really makes the text look like the original. Thanks again Spunkey
