Do you play high or ultra? Does the 1gb mean you stutter? Thinking about getting another 5830 as I want to play on ultra, it's just the lack of GDDR is making me leave it..

Texture quality, SSAO setting and shadows setting all make a big difference.

You can run ultra textures but ssao off and shadows off, or high quality not ultra textures and ssao and shadows on.

Also desktop composition should be disabled to save vram

Thanks for the replys. I get 40-70 FPS on medium default setting 1080p, but I really want ultra with AA. So I guess its either settle with less by adding another card or waiting for a 7950 or something :(

I play BF3 on 1080p with everything on ultra except ambient occ which i have on SSAO and with no deferred AA (have post AA on high and it looks decent enough).

Whilst I have never sat down and watched my FPS (this makes me want to buy a new card when i see numbers in the 40s and 50s :P) it has always ran smooth enough without any gameplay breaking slowdowns or crashes.

I have 5850s in crossfire, i played single player bf3 all on ultra settings and maintained a consistent 50+ fps most of the time. In multiplayer, i have everything on ultra minus AA and motion blur, 45-60+ fps mostly. Maps where there are a lot of players, fps does drop but i factor in server performance too.

All in all, 5850s are good enough to play any game maxed out without much problem.

If you look at graphics comparison websites, 2x5850s are just a few fps off 1 580 gtx and that is something.
