Hello, I have had my Dell XPS15 running via HDMI to my monitor for just under a week, but when I turned it on today it did not give an output to the TV, I then checked what video card it was using and it is the Intel GMA graphics not nivida. Now whenever I plug a HDMI cable in and try and clone or use a second display it does not give an output nor come up as a second display. Does anyone know a way I can get my laptop to at least detect the Nvidia GPU?

Thanks

Try doing a reboot. My children's gaming laptop had the same issue and after a reboot the GT555M showed up but was disabled. Usually it hibernates and it might be something to do with that causing it to disappear?

Try shutting it down and removing the power cable and the battery and leaving it for a short while (5 mins) then reinsert the battery and boot it up.

If it's still not showing in device manager try a scan for hardware changes.

If it still doesn't show up it's likely something has gone awry.

I have an issue with this laptop, to the point where I am tempted to throw it away, but still worked quite fast until the issue I had with it a month ago.

Basically, I think that the Nvidia graphics card has stopped working, as the screen goes a strange way where there is streaks across it, and sometimes it doesnt work at all

Is there an easy way to get this issue fixed, as the laptop is far, far away from the warranty unfortunately :-(
