to cut a long story short, i bought a tv for 899 but i thought it was particular kind but theyd ordered the wrong one, i paid through paypal and with 2 seperate invoices because i had the funds in 2 sources, 660 from my bank and 239.95 from my credit card. because id just woken up from a night shift id stupidly without thinking clicked bank transfer on both invoices so it took all of the amounts from my bank. it put me slightly in the minus. i phoned up instead of getting a full refund for the tvi didnt want and decided to just change the order for another tv instead which was 699. so the guy said hed refund the 200 difference. anyway.. now 4 days later the 239.95 has come out of my bbank but the otherpayment is back in my bank. ive phoned them more than once and explained it seems to have comew back and canthey generate an invoice for me to pay but theyre adament its gone through on their end and has been paid, the tv is despatched.

my question is ocuk.. whats going to happen ? will it eventually update on their system and theyl call me for payment, or if it says paid. did they just getglitched and i got a tv for 34.99 ? obviously im not going togo and do that

Just leave it for a week or two and keep an eye on your bank statement. If the money leaves your account then fair enough. If not, keep it quiet :D

you've already told them about it, so the ball is in their court. leave it and hope the money stays in your account.

oh, and worst "ive got a 50" plasma for £34.99" thread ever

Could be one hell of a not looking a gift horse in the mouth scenario?

itell you something, i would appreciate itso much haha. im kind of lucky with consumer electronics. i bough a refurb alienware m17x r3 in september for a grand and it had a scratch on it. so i contacted dell and they told me theyd cocked up bad and theyd sent me a scratch and dent and for my troubles theyd send me a brand new retail model with upgrades.. and they did  its still worth £2400 now as they gave me a 3 year warranty.

:D

Have an alienware laptop myself and I have to say their customer service is fantastically good.

Hmmm, you could force it in any way the moment the TV arrives? By closing something down? Or unlinking something from your paypal account? idk, it sounds like everything will be tickity boo anyway. I certainly wish you the best of luck either way, and it all just gets lost in the crazy world of digital noughts and ones, so mote it be!

EDIT: I would be tempted to sell the laptop and buy another one from dell outlet, with luck like yours that too will be a S&D and the same thing will happen xD

like my girlfriend says, you can never be too sure it it seems too good to be true it probably is haha, most liekly itl update ontheir system just like it updated on my bank. if not then jobs a good en :p if not then i guess, theres no rush to pay them yet haha

just gone into my paypal and both invoices show theyre fully paid and so do the completed invoices as seen by the company :o

anyone with any professional background in this, am i going to get this tv for nex tto nothing ?

With me not looking at the thread title properly I thought the title was 'did i just get a 50 inch plasma tv for £34,997 need help on a payment issue'.

Once I read the thread it made much more sense!

In answer to the question, I think as you've told them about it, it's up to them to deal with it.

wont it reflect on their income though wont they realise that theyre over 600 down ? or are the invoices they recieved going to mislead them ?

I guess they'll check eventually, although if it's after a certain amount of time maybe there is a get-out clause for you?

Should've gotten an led one. :p

ianal, but as I understand it, them cocking up doesn't mean that you don't owe them the money - basically if they come asking for it, you don't have a choice. Whether they notice the error and come asking is another matter, so I guess what you do if they don't come asking is up to your conscience

Just wait and see if they send you out a bill for the remaining amount I guess. Granted, its theft if you notice their error, as you have, but I'll be honest here, if someone charged me £35 for a 50" Plasma, I'd feign innocence and keep my trap shut too.

Immoral it may be, but hey, cheap TV! :D

conscience aside, ive said numerous times its bounced and they refuse to take payment as its apparently gone through.

haha i most honestly will. going into the panasonic shop today. want to see if they will demo it for me
