Hi

Anyone used this before? I intend to use it to spray my rocker cover, but have read somewhere that I should spray a black undercoat first... Does this sound right? What would be the purpose of this?

Cheers
David

Nah it won't get hot enough for it to crack :)

This is what I am going for:

That looks like Spectraflair. I'd be surprised if Halfords Glitter paint or whatever its called comes out anything like that.

No it really is Halfords glitter paint lol. I know the guy who owns that car! Just can't remember exactly how he said he achieved it (but do know the top coat is glitter paint)

Typical Halfords ****. Just been to buy the paint and there is nothing on the shelf. Ask the moron at the till and he doesn't even seem to know what I am talking about and says he has never seen it. Considering it was there last time I was in AND it says in stock on their website, I am a bit cheesed off.

Will try another Halfords tomorrow I think.. least I've got my black undercoat!

most likely the glitter paint isn't very opaque and will show any uneveness in the undercoat. also will probably give a slightly different shade if you paint over black or white

As above, how anybody can think metal flake is gay is beyond me :p.

Of course I expect the engine bay of Lucero's car is the pinnacle of imagination and coolness .

as long as it stays under the bonnet then I can't see a problem, like blokes shaving their pubes, we all knows it happens but none of us want to ever see the results

:p
