Words fail me!

Personally I didn't get this because of the DRM, but I was planning to when that's dropped, just as I did with 1404 and several others.

Now I hear that even if it is dropped I probably won't be able to play the full version in a few years time because extra content is bound to online access, which in all probability won't exist for this game then an more?

I don't want to start a new DRM discussion, but this is truly nuts! I've got loads of games I still play 8 or 10 years after release, but this means I won't be able to do that!

In effect this means that whenever Ubi drops the servers for 2070, I can throw the game away?

Correction: Not extra content but main content

Don't you think in a few years time the DRM will be completely removed from the game?

I doubt Ubisoft will keep their online-only DRM system if they can't maintain it.

I had a few doubts before ordering the game last night.

If Ubi leaves the DRM and online content setup as it is and then pull the plug on the servers, we will loose everything that requires that server connection.

Ubi could patch out the DRM requiring an online connection but leave the online content on the server, then pull the servers meaning we loose the online content.

Ubi could patch out the DRM and include all online content in the patch, then pull the plug on the servers and we loose no content but possible online play.

Can I not have this installed on more than one computer?I just installed it on my desktop and it said "that activation code is being used by another user"

How does co-op work in this game? I bought it last week and really like it and thinking of getting a copy for the girlfriend.

I've heard something about sharing the same resources and building together but I can't imagine how that would work out well. Can you play as different teams but trade and stuff instead of war?

Well you have to be logged in to play properly (and install?) so I imagine that if you were logged on one, it failed when trying to install it on another.

This thread sure went quiet after SWTOR :p I've been feeling like playing some so might do at the weekend if anyone is up for some co-op.

I'm a bit stumped, I'm playing through the campaign missions just to learn the basics and get to grips with it all. I'm on the second mission of the second campaign, the one where the FATHER AI goes crazy and you have the help the female scientist to develop an anti-virus. The problem is, before I can actually complete the entire mission I end up in debt because my money is constantly going down, which then means I can't afford to build the stuff needed to complete objectives.

Am I missing something obvious?

build more houses for more citizens who pay tax, increase tax rates (side affect of unhappiness) any higher level citizens pay more tax as well.

havent played the camp yet but thats the general rule with anno games

That's the long and short of it. The last few missions rely on you having a large settlement with executive level inhabitants.

Cool, thanks. I've just been doing what I'm told to in those missions so I suppose it's time to take responsibility and go beyond the instructions now!
