I've just done a square static line parachute course consisting of jumps from 2.5k-2k Including jumping with a bergan and at night. I was wondering if this would be a way in the door for some civvi sports jumping? Could i use this qual to start skydiving or would i still have todo the 5 'good' static line jumps first?

Cheers guys

Hi! :)

I've done a few jumps with the paras before in Cyprus 10 years ago - great bunch of people!

It's dropzone dependent really as to whether or not they will cross over your training to civy street. I'm not sure what the BPA (British Parachute Association) rules are now (they change often) with regards to crossing over qualifications. However, when I used to do it lots of forces guys used to pay their slot and jump with us.

Best thing to do is find your local DZ and as them. Not really useful I know! However, owing to the fact the regulations do change regularly, it would be wise to check.

Have a look here to find your nearest DZ and see what they say. A lot of the instructors are ex forces anyway:
