Someone's stolen satnav had my address on. Police enquiring.

Long shot but have you advertised anything for sale lately with your address and mobile number on it? the police may have more details than they are letting on and hence why he (the policeman) has your mobile number.

Nope all my sales have no details, well maybe the old gumtree advert but they don't have any address details showing other than region.

Isn't Wiltshire, i.e. Swindon and the like, a lot closer than 400 miles to Gosport?

It's not even 400 miles to the Scottish border from Gosport. :p

It does sound like it's a satnav that's been nicked from a courier van or something.

I work in Royal Mail. Lots of the delivery/collection drivers use Sat Nav's if they don't have the newer handheld PDA's so could have ended up on one of their Sat Navs which could have been stolen thereafter?

Just a thought...

Yes, quite a few deliveries from Very and the like!

If it helps, Very is owned by the Shop Direct Group, as is HDNL (now Yodel), they have a DC in Droitwich which is in that area.

They will also deliver on behalf of some other large retailers such as the rain forest and the place where every little helps.

I don't suppose you know if it was just listed in the history of the sat nav, or bookmarked as a favorite? I guess that could change the perspective a bit.
