Hey guys,

Am I pretty much safe to upgrade the speakers on this kit? Little tired of the uneven highs and mids.

Seems the current speakers get 133w input each so anything will worth rated up to that? Anything anyone can recommend?

It's rated for 133w @ 3Ohms, most hifi speakers are rated at 8 Ohms, so you'll probably struggle to replace the speakers with anything worthwhile. Generally, with an all in one kit, you're tied. If you want to replace bits over time, buy seperates.

Ah, hadn't seen the 3Ohms rating. Pretty much stuff then, to be honest they don't sound all that bad. Really could use reducing some of the bass, the subwoofer is currently on minimum yet it still sounds extremely 'boomy'.

Any idea's on reducing the subwoofer boom? Perhaps plugging the port?

Where is the subwoofer located in relation to your room? Anything above it (shelves etc)? The position in the room has a big influence on sound.

Just to the side of the TV/behind right hand speaker. Sub is facing the wall. No shelves, just there on it's own really.

I would avoid replacing the speakers on this setup. As Jellybeard has already mentioned the impedance of good hifi speakers can range from 8-16 ohms, although some kefs are 4ohms.
The other reason is that good speakers will reveal how nasty the Samsung amplifier is,the uneven mids and highs that you are experiencing are probably characteristics of the amplifier as well as the speakers. These all in one kits are built to very poor standards, the best upgade is to go down the seperates route.:D
