I have a 295GTX dual pcb and have had to take it apart to try and reconnect the internal sli bridge as windows was only detecting one card sometimes it would detect the second gpu but other times it wouldnt . This actualy enabled me to use it sli'd with my gtx470 and gtx570 using hydralogix which is something u cannot normaly do dont ask me how but it worked with all three gpu's, as i want to get it working properly i dismantled it. I now want to put it back together but with out the memory pads as they are 1m thick, and i think their stopping the gpu's making full contact with the heatsink as it runs over 100c in my system on its own when playing 3d games.

Can i put it back together and leave out the memory pads but used all the other pads for the various chips and regs on the board ?

Also does anyone know which one is the sli bridge out of the two cables incase i wanted to leave it disconnected and just leave the second sli cable which i presume must link the bios's and other componants to each card so windows can see two gpus .

thanks

steve

Yea can buy new thermal pads but wanted to know if it may be possable to just use thermal pads on the vrms .

thanks

steve

I mean no thermal pads for the memory on the card will be using as5 on the gpu and thermal pads on the vrms and nothing on the memory .

HYDRALOGIX IS HIT AND MISS AT MOMENT BUT IT DOES offer an improvement with my 470+570.soon as i get the 295gte working properly i hope to do some more testing see if disabling the internal slightly cable enables me to use it in slightly like it has been doing when it worked as one card. . sorry for caps and if my reply.is all over . replying on a galaxy s2 and can't see what im typing lol.

Thanks for the advice will try find a place that sells thermal pads 0.5m thick.

thanks
