Has anyone with a single gpu experienced considerably long loading times?
Anyone with multiple gpus getting really quick loading times?
I'm using 5850 crossfire and to get from joining a game in the server browser to playing in a game can take ages. Sometimes it takes a long time between maps too.
I was just wondering if this was crossfire related because I remember BC2 loading times increasing after changing to crossfire.

Actually i noticed i used to get faster loading times when i had a sinlge gpu, no idea why they got so much longer when i got a second card. I have mine on an SSD as well.

In other news server has been rammed full throughout the night again. Good signs indeed.

An SSD has reduced the load times dramatically for me. At times off mechanical drive the music would loop it took so long but now it's up and running so much faster. I'm on a single GPU.

I'd do that aswell but only had a 60gb and 9gb left, have some games on it but dont think bf3 would fit.

To free up space on your SSD

Disable Hibernate

NOTE: This option will disable hibernation, delete the hiberfil.sys file, and remove the Allow hybrid sleep and Hibernate after Power Options under Sleep.

1. Open a Elevated Command Prompt.

2. In the elevated command prompt, type powercfg -h off and press Enter.

Move your page file to another hard drive.

To change page file settings in Windows 7:

In the Start Menu search box, type "Advanced System Settings" and choose the Control Panel applet that should show up, "View advanced system settings"

Under "Advanced" tab, "Performance" section, click "Settings..."

Under "Advanced" tab, "Virtual Memory" section, click "Change..."

These are the actual settings. Uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives" and you can change these settings. Highlight the drive you want it on, and select either a fixed size or system managed size, and then click "Set". YOU HAVE TO CLICK THE SET BUTTON. Do the same to remove it from the drive you don't want it on. ("No paging file".)

Click OK, and you should be prompted for a reboot.

Anyone else having issues with the game running in a window instead of fullscreen? Used to be intermittent, but seems to have become a permanent issue, opens a window at full resolution size, but I can see the window bar and my start menu etc, which is really annoying, tried repairing the game and have got the latest amd drivers (12.1 preview??).

Google doesn't seem to have the answer :(

I had thought about getting a SSD. The initial load of the game takes a while but once in game the map changes aren't that bad. There's usually 20secs or more on the countdown timer to the round start by the time I'm in. So for the amount that I play I didn't think it worth the hassle in the end just to get a quicker game load if I would just be waiting longer for the countdown to finish on map changes!

How much space does disabling hibernate free up? I'm down to 3-4GB on an 80GB...

How much ram you have installed determines the hibernate file size.

If BF3 goes to window mode hit ALT+Enter to full screen it.
