New Car..... Inspire me!

Get a Mustang, apart from the fuel you'll find it veyr cheap to run. Massively undertuned simple engines means nothing ever goes wrong and when it does, it's cheap as chips to fix.

You don't see many either and they have 4 useable seats.

Plenty of room in the back!

They don't break, when they do they cost peanuts and any monkey can fix them, afterall I did so much on mine myself in the drive. Such jobs were supercharger fitment, intake manifolds, plugs, injectors, air intakes, all rear suspension, some front suspension, brakes. Was all easy!

What I had garages do, mainly Powerstation as needed a ramp was:-
Shocks and absorbers, springs.
Ball joints (uprated ones)
GEO setup
Uprated fuel pump
Exhaust Headers / Manifolds!

He doesn't want something with big bills and you suggest a Mercedes-Benz with a suspension system known to be weak that costs over 5 grand to fix?

He doesnt care about fuel economy but he doesn't want epic bills and ridiculous servicing costs. This means he needs something a bit old-school with a big V8 up the front rather than ageing technofest from Germany.

Mustang, Corvette, Monaro, that sort of thing.

Wow, I like that mustang. No mention of economy though..... :P

Having owned a very leary more or less 600BHP Mustang, the figures are:-

Town = 11-13MPG
Motorway = 25-30MPG
Combined = 16-18MPG.

A standard one might be 2-3MPG better on all the above. :)

Service them every 10,000 miles with oil and filter, spark plugs every 60k, that is literally about it, hugely reliable, simple and run forever.
