ASUS P8Z68-V BIOS settings help needed.

Hi,sorry to be a pain in the butt but im having bother figuring out what settings i should use in the BIOS of my ASUS P8Z68-V motherboard to keep my i5 2500K at stock speeds and running as cool as possable.
I want all voltages to be default or lower if possable as im having trouble when running intelburntest. Before the first run finish's 2 cores of the CPU get up to 74c and i have to stop the test as this is over intels stated safe limit of 72c and OCUK's recommended limit of 70c.

Im using the stock cooler that came with the CPU and it seems to be seated properly and solidly onto the CPU.

I have the CPU voltage set to 1.19v and the speed is 1.6Ghz idle and 3.7Ghz when stress testing. During the burn test it dips down to 1.176v wich i have read elsewhere is lower than stock voltage but im still getting these high temps. Is it just "normal" because its on the stock cooler?

If anyone has any suggestions as to what settings i should use in the BIOS then please let me know,especialy if you have personal experience with this board and CPU,cheers!

1.6Ghz is normal with Speedstep enabled in BIOS,when CPU comes under heavy load it will ramp up to full speed,default cooler is crap IMHO and you should get something like the Corsair A50 which is a lot better then the crappy intel cooler and will lower your temps a lot ( its what I use and my temps are in low 40s under heavy gaming with overclocked 2500k cpu)....Intel Burn test does test and heat up CPU more then normal gaming(I still get temps in low 60s with IBT with my 4.4GHz overclocked CPU and case fans on low speed for quietness with CPU voltage on auto)

Point of Speedstep is to lower temps and save power while you are doing normal stuff like browsing etc since no need for full CPU speed for minor stuff....I keep Speedstep enabled since no point running full speed all the time.

default cooler is crap IMHO and you should get something like the Corsair A50 which is a lot better then the crappy intel cooler and will lower your temps a lot .

I have a corsair H50 in storage i just wanted to know if this is normal behaviour with a stock cooler which i guess it is now after your comment on how crap the stock cooler is lol. I understand burn test heats it up a lot more than a game will so i'll just leave out the burn testing for now and buy some extra case fans and maybe disable turbo boost if i see the temps getting too hot whilst actualy gaming.If the temps are not outrageous whilst gaming then im not gonna bother with another CPU cooler untill i get my H50 cooler and GTX480 graphics card out of storage because i just need something thats safely usable for a few months untill i can get all my stuff back.

I dont want to overclock anything just now just keep it as cool as possable with the stock cooler but i will put that link you posted into my bookmarks and study it so i know what to do when the time comes,thanks a lot m8!

The intel stock coolers really are terrible so those temps are probably as expected. Best not to overclock until you install a proper cooler.
