Hi all,

I've got a laptop (several actually) that I am selling and will need to courier, but I don't have any packaging at all that I would deem safe for a laptop.

At work we recently had a courier come and collect a laptop and he cam with some really decent packaging, packed it up nicely and took it away. No-one at work seems to be able to tell me which courier it was or how much it costs.

Obviously quite a few people on here will have done this in the past, so does anyone have any recomendations? With approximate costs would be great.

Thanks,

G

I've had the same recently, the courier is the brown ones from memory, whose name I cant remember!

EDIT: Its UPS (google works!)

Lots of bubble wrap.
I sent a large laptop to ireland in its original packaging, was fine (Special Delivery).

I would bubble wrap it, then use packing peanuts to fill out a box with it in.

As long as no bits of the laptop are near the edges (suspended in nuts, foam or just padding) it should be fine. :)

Not sure regarding Courier but packaging? .. Suppose this is common sense but plenty of bubble wrap, tissue paper etc and pack it so the laptop won't be able to slide around keep it all snug tight! Should do the job in a decent box.

Indeed. Those big air bubbles things are great as well. :D

Does it have to survive all the way to Nigeria?

;):D

Thanks for the advice :)

Anyone any idea how much they might cost to post? Just roughly? I've not listed any on the bay yet because I don't know what it fair to put on the postage.

Last thing I sent I put a fiver and it cost a tenner so I don't really want to get it wrong on 10 laptops.

Thanks,

G

ive had UPS and DHL pickup laptops from me for RMA's and they had their own packaging, one was a box with a laptop sleeve made out of 1 inch diameter air filled plastic tubes (it was ofcourse moulded as one , it looked sort of like a radiator in a U shape)

I sent my laptop last october with RM Special Delivery Next Day (By 1.00pm the next working day) and it cost me £23.60 with cover upto £600 which was price of lappy.

Price at a guess would be about £25 from the posts in here for other couriers if they charge a lot more would avoid them
