Hi guys,

Me and the other half have booked away somewhere in the UK, and is around 180 mile jurney to get there.

However, she will be driving (54 plate ford KA), and I ain't fully confident or even comftable in that matter with her driving (she has been driving for around 4 months). What I mean is, she is a typical women (not reading the road signs/markins, and not doing good judgements/observations), so I thought why not I drive her car! I tell her off with these things and help her but it just goes into arguments etc.

I don't class my self as an experianced driver, however I do have great road sense (ride a motorbike for 2 years and drive my mums Quashqau) and I class my self as a safe driver too.

So I was wondering if anybody have any ideal and cheap websites I can use that can cover under 25's for 1/few day car insurance cover (I'm 18).

Thanks guys :)

Shortest time I've had it was for a week, but guess they'll do it by the day. Yep, it takes 5 minutes and just need to give them your details and card details.

They may not insure you, depending who it was. Direct Line were happy to do me for on my dads car but the Post Office won't. Never had a problem on Admiral, More Than or Sheila's-.

Cheers pal, think I will get in touch with her insurance and see whats what! She ain't happy of the idea, but I've been in the car with her on long journeys and nearly crashed (her own fault). She is with Diamond IIRC.

Thanks :)

You may well be able to go onto her policy for peanuts anyway, especially if you have been driving longer. My missus and I recently did the same for each others cars and it cost us nothing.

With you being 18 I highly doubt you'll get day insurance for a sensible price, if at all. That's probably why some insurers have said no straight off the bat.

Mind you it might not be so bad on a Ka but don't hold your breath.

How about giving her a chance to improve her driving, by letting her do the journey herself without criticising her from the passenger seat? This way you can save time and money.

Criticizing is different from telling her major things she is doing wrong to get her and my self safe. Dont get me wrong, she is doing well but for long journey's and motorway driving, its a no no. Ive tried helping her with these things but when she did things wrong snd i calmly helped her, she insisted it was my fault so i dont help her now.

Thanks guys.
