Budget card as a "backup"?

I may have a problem with my GTX 470 that means it will have to be RMA'd. The only problem is I don't have a backup card, so I'm looking for a cheap one to use as a backup.

Budget up to £30, I wouldn't mind 2nd hand either.

Had a quick look on OcUK and saw a Nvidia GT 520 for little over £30, anyone know if it will be any good?

Or perhaps an old 2nd hand 8800 GTX?

I'm not expecing a powerful card for the price obviously, but I would want it to be able to play a few (fairly modern) games at lowest settings.

Any recommendations?

8800GTX i sold mine to a friend for £10, that played bf3 fine on low settings. Doubt it'll cost much more on fleebay

4850 go for around £30 on the mm

Thanks. I'm not very familiar with ATI cards, how does the 4850 compare to a 8800 GTX?

Edit: Also someone's offered me a GTS 250 512mb for £30, how does it compare to a 8800 GTX? I presume it's slightly better or about the same? thanks.

4850 is slightly faster than 8800GTX, but probably moreso in newer games. The GTS 250 is similiar performance to a 4850. All these cards should be able to play latest games, though obviously at lower settings.

If you look around, you could probably find a GTX260 or 4870 which would easily play latest games at decent settings and resolution.

Thanks :) Will probably go for the GTS 250, I think £30 is a good price for it.
